Hi,

I recently put my down on a Escape 21. I'm sure I'll have some questions for you all, and wanted to start by saying hello. I'm getting pretty close to retireing after working at the same job now for 35 years and something like this is what i've wanted for a long time. Raised a family and now it's just wifey and I and we are looking forward to getting out and spending some time away from the homestead. Thanks for this service.

Mike

Hi Mike! Welcome and congratulations! We're on the central coast too - Morro Bay to be precise. I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time in your new 21'. When does it hatch?

Hi Mike,
Our 21' has a completion date of May 22 - just two days after yours!
However, I think we're going to wait until later in June to pick it up. My wife doesn't like cold weather and touring Yellowstone, Glacier, and the other parks up that way doesn't appeal to her until the daytime highs at least approach the 70s (F).

So Ray, I guess you will not be getting the cold weather package of thermal windows and extra insulation and spray foam underneath, but definitely be getting the a/c package, preferably the larger Dometic unit??

Don't forget that the Escape Rally is in Osoyoos in early June. You could hang around after that and drink B.C. wines until she's up to temp.

Exactly right!
(Although, I didn't know that there was a "larger Dometic unit" - (I haven't received our "build page" yet.)

That has already entered my mind - now I need to place it in my wife's mind.

larger vs the smaller polar cub 9200
and the rally is on my calendar...

Again...she might be afraid that the larger AC would make her too chilly! :D

She grew up in the Colorado, Wyoming corner of Utah, in a house without much of a heating system, and she never wants to be cold again. That's why we're living in Florida!

You have to do your own conversion to Fahrenheit.
June in Osoyoos.

regarding heat and insulation: don't forget that insulation helps keep things cool, too, as well as helps with quiet a little.

I feel bad for you folks North of the border. RV anti-freeze is about $3.50 a gallon (not on sale!) South of you. Cheaper than cheap wine! At the END of the season, I can buy it for about $2 a gallon (US). And, that's for the "name" brand stuff... like 20/20.
