Hi everyone, we are Dave & Becky from WI. We have been fiberglass bodied campers for the past 4 years and will never buy anything but fiberglass. We had a wonderful Scamp 16 and traded it our for a Casita 17 this past year. We are barely into our Casita but already planning ahead for retirement in about 5-8 years. That said, I suspect as we get more time we would likely get just a bit more size, but not much more. We definitely don't want to pull a large house down the road, ever. So anyway, in our area Escape 19 & 21's are not very easy to find. I heard that Scamp owners get some incentive to show their campers to perspective customers and we had no trouble doing just that, both seeing and showing our own. We got approached most every time we were camping. Is there a similar thing with Escapes? Or maybe someone out there in the WI, MI, Iowa, IL area on here willing to let us see one first hand? Besides that, we would consider new or used, as the money exchange rate at times is pretty good and they seem pretty affordable. Insight on that would be good as well. Meaning, what is the actual price it cost to get yours in a PMessage if you are willing to share.

We loved our Scamp, like our Casita, but have a hunch an Escape is in our future. Sorry if we asked too much right off the bat, but your Escapes are very intriguing to us. We have the same feeling we got when seeing our first Scamp and Casita.

Welcome Dave and Becky. :) There are a heck of a lot of former Scamp owners that now own an Escape.

If you contact the Escape office, they will give you a list of folks who will show you your trailer. Their list far exceeds the number of folks that frequent this forum, though I bet you find some willing owners here too.

Jim - you are fast! I was just typing the same thing! I'm even one of the former Scamp owners. :-X

Dave and Becky, it is great to have more Wisconsin folks here. There is an upcoming Mississippi River Rally where you can see (probably) every variety of Escape Trailers (except the 2017 models) and meet lots of friendly folks. It would be the easiest way to see many trailers and how their owners have made them their own. It is open to all everyone, and there will be some Casitas and Scamps there most likely.

Oh, I betcha there will be at least one 2017 model there. Of a 19 footer. With black graphics. To a buyer in the eastern part of the country, if it was made for who I think it was. ;D

And, with the rally at the end of Sept, there will probably be other 2017 models that have left the factory that could be headed in that direction.

Great to know, the rally is likely doable for us, about 300 miles out. Would be great to see all the types and features and help us find the model for us. Glad we asked so we can plan ahead to visit. Probably will not camp there with Casi, our Casita. Wouldn't want to mix up the fiberglass, could be a tough neighborhood for her, lol. No, really we would plan on camping near our college kid, about 50 miles north and drive down for the afternoon.

I think Tom from Iowa will be there with his Casita, so you would have backup in our tough Escape neighborhood! There was a nice couple there last year in a Scamp and nobody let the air out of their tires or anything! ;D

I spent four nights with my stickie fifth wheel at the Escape Rally and survived. :)

We will be there in our Casita. Our Escape 21' is on order for next February 27. Hope to get some Escape tours for ideas so we can finalize our build sheet.

Don't be shy about showing up with your Casita - you'll be in good company (well at least "company").

Not only did we not let the air out of their tires, but we let them ride with us to the balloon festival!

Dave, as others have said you are certainly welcome in your Casita, in fact the rally was never designed for just Escapes.

Too funny!!! We likely can not get away from work for more than 2 days so that's why Casi would stay home. She loves to mingle, just like her owners, no problem there. Thanks for all the open arms and thoughts.

Hi: Dbbja... For the Niagara Wine Escape rally we also welcome all types of trailers... but with a warning to be "Prepared to be converted"!!! Alf
escape artist N.S. of Lake Erie;)

We got converted from a Lil Snoozy (twin bed ) to a 21 ft Escape . We needed room for the Grandkids extra bed .
The Lil Snoozy has the nice RV door that the 2017 escapes will have. Also easier to pull with a surge brake trailer, then setting up a brake controller in Tow vehicle . If Snoozy made a bigger trailer it would be a hard choice to make . The Snoozy is spoken for already and we hope to have the 21 Escape by this Fall (promised Jan 4th )

Tom from Wisconsin just reminded me of my egregious error. Humble apologies for my missed state mistake. I can only plead confusion because he was camping in Iowa when we last spoke.
