Hey everybody! My wife and I joined your forum yesterday, and ordered a 2017 Escape 5.0 TA today with a delivery date of November 1, 2017. It's going to be a long year waiting on our baby.

This forum and all the great information we've learned really helped clinch the deal for us when we decided this unit was everything we were looking for. So, thanks to everyone who took the time to answer questions so that we may all learn from your invaluable experience. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions too over the next year or so.

Welcome to the site, and congrats on your order. I will have waited 1 1/2 years for my trailer, though to be fair was a holdout for the 2017 5.0. I bought myself a temp trailer so I could camp this last year, which I will sell in the spring.

I must assume your wife is the wrench, and does the nut torquing? ;D

Congratulations and welcome to the "Waiting for my Escape" club. I'm also new and am finding these forums so very helpful.

We originally had a delivery date of Aug 28, but it has been moved up to Jul 28 with a possibility of an even earlier date. Lots of options and decisions.

Hi: Lug Nut & Torque Wrench... Congrats on your order!!! Another Florida summer escapee? We should be passing thru the Tallahassee area in Jan., if health permits, as we escape the SW. Ontario winter!!! Alf

Congratulations!! Exactly 1 year from today will be your big day! Enjoy the waiting. Building the build sheet will keep you busy!

Perhaps you didn't notice it's not "lug nut and torque wrench" but "lug nut and torque WENCH"

Good eye, Adrian. I am still looking for that Beer Wench to bring along camping. Trying to enlist my wife and other female friends gets me hit too much. ;D

Yes, I thought it was a nice play on words as I have know some wrenches in my life, may have married one or two in fact....

I posted my first post this morning, and have spent the day scrolling through the "It's Friday " thread, looking at all the pics of the new Escapes under construction. I'm so reved up, I can hardly contain my excitement. Imagine my surprise when I revisited my first post and found so many friendly and welcoming comments. Thank you all. I recognized so many of your names from pics I saw of your units being built.

Yes,I'm "Lug Nut", and my beautiful wife is "Torque Wench" (without the "r"). Yes, she knows how to torque me up! I'm crazy about that girl, and can't wait to Escape with her in our new 5.0 TA.

Torque Wench is pursuing fabric, vinyl and Formica options as we update our Build Sheet. We got so much great information from your posts about what works. Our Build Sheet is about 95% done with your great advice. We can't wait to meet other Escapers at campgrounds across North America. -- Lug Nut

My tow vehicle is a 2001 Toyota Tundra with 125K miles on it. I already have a 5th wheel hitch and electric trailer brake on it. I had a 27' Shadow Cruiser 5th wheel that I pulled when the truck was new. This is my third Toyota truck, and they just keep on going and going. If it ever gives up the ghost, I'll just get another one.

Just got an e-mail from Tammy and ETI today, 11/10/16. She moved my delivery date up from Nov 1, 2017, to Sep 8, 2017. I'm stoked! The sooner, the better. I'm working on my Build Sheet, trying to be ready.

I've learned so much by reading all the really informative threads on this forum. Thanks to everyone for sharing what they've learned. -- Lug Nut

New TA

Perfect time of the year for a xcountry trip too.
Good for you. I'd rather drive the country in Mid Suptember than November.
Here's an idea, Rally your way back home, depending upon the route you take, there will be several opportunities.

Suptember, must be a Freudian indication that it's time to start to cook my final meal of the day. And for country people, that's Supper.

Congrats to both of you, - we have a 5.0TA and it works out very well for us. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Nice! 1 year to 10 months looks like build times are getting shorter and shorter based on other soon to be owners changed delivery dates.

I suspect build times are getting shorter due to new facilities. Will be interesting to see what the wait time will be once the first 5.0TA show model is completed.
