We have a new to us 2017 21C. We’ve had a variety of RV’s for many years and miles and now have this Escape for some future plans. This forum is very active and full of great information.
Birdboy2, welcome to the Escape family, and congratulations on your new to you 21C. It is going to take you on many adventures, you're going to enjoy it. We have a Escape 21 as well (2023) and you can see at this link the many modifications and alterations that I've done to it. Some ideas were mine and others were from folks here that have shared what they have done.
yeah, the 4 milk crate train thing is nearly trivial and very handy. I just used hurkey tie-wraps to tie them together, using a flush-cut nipper to cleanly cut off the ends of the tiewraps so they aren't sharp. the rear-most carton is our liquor cabinet, the other deeper in ones are mostly occasional use cleaning supplies.
Yes, strangely enough I used tie wraps to sort out the situation and was fully prepared to use bolts and fender washers to hold the crates together. Even though to move them I lift at the front and the rear rolls on casters there's no sag at all. So I'm still using the original "temporary" tie wraps.
key is, use major brand tiewraps like Gardner-Bender, and always use the black ones, they are far more UV resistant. I generally use the 75 lb ones for anything like this, and only use the skinny 18 lb ones for small cable bundles and such.
