I'm curious as to how big or little is the new Escape tongue box. With 2 batteries installed, is there room for anything else, like chairs, mats and all the "Stuff" one needs while camping. What about the rack on the rear, what is the capacity? Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I don't know if it is the same for the tongue storage box on the 17B, but mine is labeled at a maximum capacity of 100 lbs. Since my batteries are in the rear bumper, there is plenty of room. I keep my grill & small tanks, 3 water hoses & my detachable electric cord, 3 folding chairs, and a bit of other junk with plenty of additional room. When stopped & unhooked, I usually throw (well put) the weight distribution bars & hitch in to get them out of the way.

The 19ft front box is labeled 100 pounds. I put the water hoses, water filter, sewer elbow, cleaners, rags, power cord, small vac, orange lynx blocks, trailer power cord, some tools, and misc stuff in the box. My chairs would not fit. The batteries sit in the box on the A-frame. My box was #2 off the line.

"The batteries sit in the box on the A-frame. My box was #2 off the line." You say there is not enough room in the tongue box for chairs because the batteries are in the box?

That would depend on the size and shape of the chairs, and what else you put in the box, I presume.
I don't think there is an answer.

When underway, we keep our chairs folded, on the bed.
I contemplated transporting them on the outside, atop my storage box ( on the rear ), but they would be filthy and maybe wet when I arrived at camp. If I need to protect the bed from dirt or mud, I carry large construction grade garbage bags that I got at a home supply store. They are super-heavy-duty.
