Just thought we needed to tell this group, we have ordered a 5.0.. Had been sitting on the fence for a while. Looking forward to picking up this spring. Plan on towing with a Ranger 4.0L, ext. cab, 2WD. Hope this is enough, but if not we will have to change. Got tired of tents and then tent trailers. Looking forward to a whole bunch of new conviences.

Hi: kvermeulen... And welcome!!! I couldn't have said it better myself. The 4Ltr. V6 Ranger would be my choice from Ford. We tug our 5.0 with a 4.3Ltr. V6 GMC Sierra short box and it does just fine. I don't have a need for speed when towing, but I do like my comforts when camping. Alf

Hi Alf - thanks for the reply. Re pics, yes please send to sunluverrr@hotmail.com. What is your fuel MPG when towing. I get about 25-26 MPG on highway at 120km. The truck seems like it has plenty of go, most notibly is that its max torque output is 238 ft lbs at 3000 RPM. Other trucks in the mid size are a little higher but also at a higher RPM, so I am hoping it works out ok.

ken, you will LOVE the 5.0! Easy to tow, easy to hook up, bed going from front to back, higher ceiling, lots of space, and unique! What is there not to like. You'll be part of a special group when you get an Escape!

Hi Ken, welcome and congratulations to you and your family on ordering your new Escape. I am sure you will be enjoying it for many years to come. :)

Thanks to all and to this forum. We got lots of good ideas from here and from some of you. We made some changes to our build plan and think that maybe we got it all figured out now. But then again, some things will still change.
Anyhow thanks again.
Ken, Diana and Katie.

Hi: EGSKPN...Ken& Diane...Isn't it great to be able to make reasonable changes to the build of your trailer for your personal comfort. Long after you have forgotten what they cost...you will still appreciate them. There isn't anything I would change from the original build...but I have added a mirror on the bathroom door, the high arc faucet in the kitchen, and changed a few screws to S/S. Some of these things have been adopted by Reace!!! Alf
