On the Road

We're in Merritt, with fires burning on two sides of us and thick smoke in the valley. Tried to make reservations for a couple camp sites in Salmon Arm. One wasn't taking reservations, just said arrive in the morning and cross your fingers and the other didn't respond. So we left a day earlier than planned and returned to Moon Shadows in Merritt. Nice place, quiet, clean washrooms.
That should mean an easy two hour run to Salmon Arm, except for stopping to shop for stuff we forgot to bring.

We leave tomorrow morning, unless we get an evacuation notice in the middle of the night. Strong winds blowing this way.

Oh dear..Stay safe..
We were up in Clinton this weekend (a couple moutains away from Lillooet and its evacuations) but our car had a bit of ash on it this morning and our valley was soooo cloudy and hazy. Also a fire burning 25 miles from our cabins, up in the Big Bar area...

I am heading to Salmon Arm (sans trailer) after work on Wednesday to stay with a friend.. I hope I make it....
