Just bought oru beach more of a rec version more stable and can fit my jack russel in it. I get it next week ! Very excited to take it camping and paddle around some lakes / quiet water. I think I will keep my sea kayak for longer open water trips.

Let us know, I have looked at them but don't know the quality of construction. Check out the cool light you can put in it

Funny, I spent a hour looking at these last night. Can't wait to hear what you think about it!

I've had the modular tandem from LLBean a number of years. Never had a bit of trouble with it.

yes ive been looking at them for a while- great reviews. Its hard for me to get my heavy sea kayak out alone. Oru kayak's only weigh about 25 pounds.

have it unfolded in my living room easy to unfold took me 15 min not knowing what i was doing easy will be 5 min after folds break in and i get better. Haven't gotten it out on the water yet but will soon!

Is this the same one that the REI in Oly has on display?

that is the bay its nice too. The beach is more open and a little wider- you cannot use a spray skirt with the beach but you can with the bay. I got the beach because it is more open to fit dogs /fishing etc and a bit more stable. The bay is a more traditional kayak. Depends on what you are looking for...

gocamp, that Pakayak is cool! Did some digging on the 'net. Sounds like they'll be launching in June. I wonder how much they'll be under the "launch discount". I'm looking at a new tow vehicle, and roof racks have been a requirement - may not anymore??!?

Pakayak is 5 days into a Kickstarter campaign and over 25% of the way to their goal, if anyone is interested in checking it out. I'm going to give it a try - not cheap, but neither is a new set of roof racks!

Tried my Oru kayak at the rally worked great very light and stable my little Jack Russell-fig loved it! The new Pakayak looks interesting but I'm really happy with my Oku beach. Let me know how yo like it if you order one - its so nice to not have to load it on top of your car!
