Sweet rig. I like the new(er) Dodge trucks too. Please let us know what fuel mileage you're getting.

I may be developing 5'er envy, but my 19 is my sweetheart. :-* The boys are even happier in our Escape than they were in the Casita. It's our little home. :D

Thanks...Bob hasn't tracked the gas mileage but I asked him and he thinks it's pretty good....tis a test on the coke for sure.
Hi: bobandlinda... That was pretty fast. From 5.0 to 5.0TA in two months flat!!! Ya gotta love it. Alf

Congratulations! I can only imagine how exciting that must be! I won't find out until Dec. What engine do you have in your RAM? I will be towing my new 5.0 TA with the 5.7 Hemi, just curious for comparison purposes...

It appears he has the hemi also. I too have the hemi and I average 12 mpg towing and 12mpg in and around town. I test drove a new Dodge 3.0 diesel this weekend, sweet truck and it is getting 18 mpg in the city/in and around town. Really thinking about upgrading to the diesel.

Jim, did find anyone towing with the new, smaller diesel 1500? I an earlier discussion weren't they supposed to average 28mpg highway?

Yeah, the 3L eco-diesel comes in at 20/28, and the 3.6L pentastar comes in at 18/25. Pretty good mileage for either one, but the diesel would probably have better torque. Sorry to steer the thread off topic, but I like the truck.

Yes I spoke to someone who just towed a 5th wheel 6500 miles and averaged 18 towing and 26 unhooked . The demo I drove has 78 miles and it's average showing on computer is 18.4, expected to increase after break in.

I have averaged as high 24 mph with my hemi, it has the 8 speed tranny. If you keep your foot off the gas, you'll be amazed. I have no idea how I will do towing, its all new to me...

I haven't looked, or test drove the Ram 1500 diesel. Would probably be dangerous to my finances. The new Dodge Ram trucks are sweet and now the manufacturers are getting into the small diesels and torquey V6's with 7 & 8 speed transmissions.

My pickup is paid for and I want to keep it that way. But soooooo tempting.... ;D

Weeeellll, my Ford F-150 with ecoboost, I get 16.8 mpg not towing and 16.4 mpg towing Ten Forward. When folks say "I didn't know it was there," that works for me! YMMV

Okay, I tow 55-60mph and non-tow 60-65 mph, if you care.

56 more payments and my truck will be mine  GAD.

Happiest day of my life and the days after, were when I had no more payments.
Everyone's goal should be to retire without debt.

The one I drove had a sticker of $55k, way too expensive for my taste, you can get a nicely equipped diesel for mid -40's. As far as debt, it is almost impossible to avoid, what with annual property and income tax and that ultimate tax, Estate Tax. My goal is to spend my retirement and not have an estate, what I don't spend I give away to family and charity every year.

Well, everyone should have a goal, right?

My favorite bumper sticker:

"I'm spending my child's inheritance as fast as I can.
I will enjoy it more than s/he will."
