Personal Business Cards

I hope I'm not being paranoid, but in these "electronic" days where it is easy to locate someone's address, and given the number of trailers being stolen, is it really a good idea to advertise ownership? Just a thought. My wife and I have "retirement" cards but they contain no clue as to our interests and we are extremely selective as to whom we give them. Just a thought.......

No your not paranoid, but if one really goes down that Rabbit Hole you would never go anywhere. People shoulder surf at stores and gas pumps, your rewards cards track everything you buy as does your credit cards, warranty cards you filled out and sent in , your mortgage information and such on file at the county or state level, if you live in a small town any delivery to the house is noted, any organization you belong to etc etc etc etc . So in the scheme of things personally handing a card to someone at a rally I would imagine is a fair bit safer then say going on a big shopping trip to Wally World. Yes we had it happen here last year on Black Friday folks were watching who came out with big ticket items and following them home later breaking in to steal said items. Just my thoughts, I guard my privacy diligently but sometimes you just have to let it go.

You'll notice on my card, there's no last name or anyway to contact me except through the forum. And just for giggles and grins, my last name doesn't start with D. nor do I live in Portland, Oregon ;D

I don't put these cards in a fish bowl trying to win a free lunch ;) But, I think folks need to do what they feel comfortable doing.

I've certainly seen plenty of site signs and spare tire covers blazoned with all kinds of personal information. And everyone see's that stuff in a campground or going down the road.

The cards are a neat idea, and the ones shown are clever. I agree with Donna that one should only include information one feels comfortable disseminating. ;)
