During the last 4 months I have been gleaning through all the picture galleries. One of the things I have noticed, there does not seem to be any standards on how to label uploaded pictures.

It would be nice when you are looking at a picture that the description included the model of the trailer such as “Under Sink Classic 5.0TA” or “2017 21” etc. Normally you can tell when they are exterior shots of the whole trailer, but not so when they are close up or interior shots.

May not seem like a big deal, but I would find useful! I understand it is up to the person uploading the picture to provide a caption, but thought I would mention as possible conversation starter or possibly leading to picture labeling standard if none exist. The only thing I can find in the FAQ’s is provide a “caption” of picture you are uploading.:)
Just a thought.

Thread titles with the same kind of info on trailer model, year and subject would also be helpful in addition to labeling photos.

Sure... if those things are relevant. For some topics the model and year are irrelevant. Maybe the guideline should be "use a caption or thread title that gives readers some clue about the subject". It's not so bad here in EscapeForum, but I've seen threads titled "A Question" - that's useless.

What I've always thought would be nice if more of the travel photos were labeled as to exactly where they were taken. Hey, looks good and I might want to go there, but sometimes it's not labeled. So, yeah, guess I'm not going there.

I usually describe well in the thread what the subject of the photo is. I find that most others do this too.

Galleries?

edit: I poked around and found the photo albums. I never even knew they existed. Are these photos that are in threads or do folks have to just post there?

Wow, what an awkward place to navigate. I still fail to see the purpose of it. Is it to just look at photos as opposed to reading the thread that describes what is going on?

I still can't believe I never knew about it. Please tell me it is a new feature. LOL

I, too, had never even looked at the "Gallery" page (at the top of the website) and was surprised to see all the pictures from my album included. I was also surprised to see them posted in August whereas I had created that album a couple of years ago but only recently added captions as suggested in this thread.

Edited: So I am inferring that adding the caption is what triggered my pictures being posted in the gallery. But how did the website know in which category to place them?

Second edit: Forget the last comment. Apparently when creating an album, one designates a category.

Photos within albums others created. You can find under Gallery tab at top of page or within a users profile.

Best I can tell these album photos are not tied to a thread, they are separate.

I wouldn't call it a senior moment. I have never looked at the galleries either and you, Jim, and I have been here since the beginning.
BTW, I only recently discovered ( over on FGRV ) that you can ignore entire forums. I no longer have to delete/sift all the RVs for sale and wanted. It's under "Thread tools".

That would really be nice. I also had the same thought when I was looking at all of these wonderful pictures but had no idea where they were taken.
