Planning Our New E19

Lippert Hex Drive.

This Lippert Hex-drive / manual tongue jack looks like it'd do the trick: https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Ja...926.html#exp-productdetails=.related-products @ $61.38.

I looked at the Lippert Hex Drive. Great idea, but the manual crank interferes with the LP bottles.

If you are handy, do the 1/2 bolt conversion. I did it. Was a very easy project. The 1/2 bolt hex head is same size as the stabilizer. A socket can be used if your drill dies or you can easily make up an emergency crank. I welded a socket to an old crank I had laying around.

We love our Anderson trailer kit https://andersenhitches.com/product/ultimate-trailer-gear-duffel/ and we carry a bunch of heavy leveling blocks. Camco makes them but we found another brand that was better value. We have 16 of these blocks for various uses.

Others have given great suggestions too. 😊

I had the Anderson level blocks but found these work much better, especially with the Escape wheel size. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09NSQ7TG2

And, I like the TriLynx blocks for the tongue jack and extra lift when needed

Not sure why but your links weren’t active. Maybe it’s just my iPad but in case it’s a wider issue I just reposted below

Hi John

I bet you are enjoying your long road trip in Mexico. I envy you.

About the BOYISEN levelling blocks: do you carry one set or two, one for each side of the trailer if needed. I've sometimes put planks under both sides of the 5.0TA to level it front to back for the fridge if I am just stopping overnight and not unhooking from the truck.

Thanks. Enjoy your trip.

One pair, you just need to raise the low side to level left/right, then use the tongue jack to level front/rear. After leveling l/r, I chock the opposite side tires with solid rubber chocks I picked up at a local auto parts store

Thanks John.
Yes, that would work if one were to unhitch before levelling. I'm considering those blocks. It seems it would save a bunch of weight rather than carrying 2"x6" planks.

Well, you level left right while hitched, chalk those curved level blocks, chalk the other tires, then unhitch and level with the tongue jack. You really can't use your stabilizers while you're hitched. About the only time I stay hitched is for a overnighter where we're arriving late and leaving early, and I can park where it's level enough, and then the inside of the trailer is pretty damn bouncy because it's not stabilized

John, I sometimes put the stabilizers down when hitched. But you have to remember to lift them before moving!

Generally, with the two axles and the hitch, our 21C is pretty stable. After all, it's sitting on five points.

My wife and I are on the heavy side, if one of us is lying in bed and the other is moving about, it feels like an earthquake if the stabilizers are not down

We got our multibit screwdriver from Escape at one of the Rallies we attended. It’s worked great. A couple years ago I was at a Milwaukee tool dealer holiday sale and bought a screwdriver like the Escape unit but it is a stubby style with bi directional ratcheting and a direct drive position too. It has a couple Robertson bits with it and is handy in tight places.
I think less than $15. Also I have a couple MAGNA whatcha-call-it screwdriver kits. They are handy too. Lots of bits.
