As an alternative, M4 makes a couple of different plate lamps, with wire pigtails and BA15 and Wedge base adapters. They have 3M VHB tape on the back and could be mounted inside the back of the fixture and connected to the socket with the adapter.

Plate Style LED Lights

In my current interior ceiling lamps, I installed the M4 Elite natural white lamps (round) and took the odd mix of ones the previous owners installed and disposed of any with dead LEDs in them (which was most of them) and used the remainder to install in the exterior lights, where the right color, or the durability, is a non-issue.

I have converted 3 different RV's (Motor home, Thor trailer, Bigfoot trailer) using M4 LEDs and have had one failure that they replaced right away. I highly recommend M4 for their high quality and consistency of color between lamps of different designs and bases.

I have used both sizes of these for conversion of interior ceiling lamps and for my stove hood light.

Beware it may not be a faulty bulb. That fixture is notorious for being prone to failure. Sometimes traced to the rocker arm switch or to the wiring inside the switch. I would recommend testing your failed bulb in a known working fixture.

Thanks all for the replies. I bought this from amazon. seems to work fine

Can you share the Amazon link to that specific 5500K replacement lamp? I've searched high/low in every combination of the info on the package and only the 3500K version shows up in searches on Amazon.

I can find it elsewhere online, but I do not want to pay nearly as much in shipping as the lamp itself costs.
