I thought the post count should go up every time you post. Not my account...just curious.

If you look back at your very first post it will also say 46. It's giving you the total number of your posts, not counting them up and it updates the count on all your posts.

This picture was taken in the same thread with back to back posts made on different days.
Example: If no one was to answer this thread and tomorrow I posted again...I would expect that the post number would go up. That is what I took a picture of. I will see if I can post a link to the thread.

If you go to Three Burner Stove Options posts 4 and 5 are done by the same person on different days and both state 46 posts. This may...or may not change as soon as that person posts again. Maybe it will correct itself. Just found it interesting.

My last two post here in the same thread show 311. With this post it should say 312 or correct itself to 313. Maybe it is updating for others and just my problem but again here is a picture.

Now I have a picture showing 3 posts all with the same amount of posts 312. I am going to stop now so I don’t break something.

Don't worry about it. Your post count is just a meaningless statistic, and it is usually best to ignore it!

Don't fall into the trap of believing that if someone has accumulated a large number of posts, that the value of their posts is somehow greater or that they are more knowledgeable than others who may have a much lesser number of posts. Forums are similar to social gatherings. Sometimes a person may dominate the conversation, often so much that others can't or do not want to make their own contributions. Maybe this is because they enjoy hearing the sound of their own voices, or some other reason, but it is seldom due to them being the most knowledgeable person around with respect to the topic they are espousing on. In any case, don't put too much value in the number of posts a person makes, but instead just judge the quality of their posts by their content.

Edit: Hey, I just noticed that I now have over 1900 posts. :)

I started out thinking there was something strange with someone else’s account. Then it looked like my numbers were not going up as well...Of course it was just a big brain hiccup on my part...one of those threads you wish you could pull the plug on. If nothing else it is good for a laugh. :-[
