My thread is " My Escape to Margaritaville Modifications and Alterations" which is things I want to share with members here like Eggscap and others. What's wrong with that....

Hope they will open it up or I'll have to start another.

Hi there, Jack. I hear you, my friend. I was enjoying your mod thread. I hope it opens up again soon. If you’ve contacted Donna D for help, I believe she posted that she’s on a lengthy trip with spotty connections. Is MrLynn a moderator now? Maybe he will figure it out.

I wonder if the site is glitching. The closed thread on the 2024 solar eclipse DanandDaphne referenced looks totally innocuous as well. From what I’ve seen, thread closings have been quite rare in the past and only when things got out of hand. That hasn’t happened with either thread, obviously.

Just to let the helpful moderators know, I did a quick check of some Escape forum Topics (I was bored and curious ;D) and I see other recent threads with 2024 posts that have been closed (I didn’t search every Topic) :

Hi, Joe, when you’re in a thread, look toward the top of the page and you’ll see a green banner with a pull down menu labeled “Thread Tools.” Click on that, then click on “Unsubscribe from this Thread” and you should be good to go. I hope.

My guess is that when you post a comment to a thread you’re subscribed to that thread. Maybe.

Just FYI, if you click "Quick Links" on the green banner, select "Edit Options", you'll be on a page where you can choose "Default Subscription Mode" which lets you tailor whether you're automatically subscribed when you post in a thread, and if so, how you are notified of thread activity.

As for me, I checked my settings and I had already switched off the email notifications for subscribed threads a while ago. Forgot I had done that (and how I did it, apparently). My mind is a steel sieve these days. ???

I kept the auto-subscribe function, though, for a handy way to track threads where I’ve posted.

We're looking into the newly closed threads issue. I suspect this was simply an error. We have some new moderators and like new RVers, not everything always goes to plan.

Typically threads are only closed when they go substantially off the rails and even then a note of explanation is usually posted.

I have wondered the same thing a recent thread discussing the upcoming solar eclipse was closed for no apparent reason.

Thank you Thank you Ms Janet H and all that had a hand at bringing these threads to life.

Errors can happen, I do understand that very well. I ran my own bulletin board system before there was an internet. Way before "AOL" came to be there were bulletin boards. It is a job to keep them together and up to date. I started out with a 300 baud modem and thought it was the greatest. All the bulletin boards were dial ups and they were all over the nation, even the government communicated like that at one time.

But anyway....... here we are today and my hat is off to all that make this site possible, thank you all and for the fine folks that are sharing as well.
