While we are awaiting our pick up date for our 21', I would like to sew a custom privacy curtain (next to door). Does anyone have the measurement of the ETI provided curtain? How are they hung? Thanks!

While I don't have the privacy curtain size, they are hung across the entry door so it's either in the way to go in/out or smushed over against the bathroom wall so it blocks the cubbies next to the door should you choose that option.

I don't have them, incidentally, as I travel with 3 dogs (who would most likely find it quite chewy.)

Thanks, Charley. You're probably right. I just happened to have some great fabric I wanted to use up! Also, we now have an Australian Shepherd puppy - and it would probably be a great meal for him!

My wife plans to make one so she has the measurements. They are 44"x66" and there a 8 grommets.

We love that curtain; keeps light out in the morning and is a nice privacy screen as well. The curtain ETI provides is a nice quality pleated one that folds nicely up against the bathroom.

Stacey, thanks for the measurements! One more if you don't mind: What size are the grommets?

(TWO 21's in Hillsboro? Outstanding!)

My two dogs seem to mind the privacy curtain over the screen door, they will stay behind the curtain but try to come out thru the screen, maybe it is because you can see thru the screen? Anyway, I use the curtain more than the screen because of that reason, the curtain also keeps bugs out.

That's the reason why I sprayed a stenciled design on my screen, because it was the dog, (rarely me) that kept running through it.;)
P.S. Don't use glitter paint if you try this solution for the screen.

Carla, we are using a 1/2" grommet. That might be a little big. We don't have the trailer yet. We are basing our selection on a picture we took when at ETI.

Thanks for the grommet size. It's always a challenge to do these things when you don't have the Escape close by. When do you pick up your 21'?

Our build starts this week, the 17th! We plan to pick it up on December 28th provided the weather cooperates.

I'm planning to make a new curtain to match our 21's dinette seats. (I have plenty of left over fabric and would love for there to be more of it in the trailer.) I agree the ETI provided curtain is great, so I will store it to keep it looking nice. When the day eventually comes that our Escape is rehomed, the original curtain can be put back into place. :D

It's a good point that the ETI curtain fabric is soft, allowing the curtain to pull back out of the way; my upholstery fabric is stiffer, and I do plan to line it, too... Obviously I will need to choose carefully on the lining.

What I plan to do is get rid of that curtain completely and put one on the window. I don't see any reason to have a big curtain that will just get in my way (knowing me) and I won't need it for privacy since I'll be by myself more often than not when I use it. And if Dirk is with me, he's not gonna be going outside if I'm still asleep.

I'll use some of the excess cushion fabric, which is dark (custom ordered) and line it so it's even darker to block out more of the sunlight (yeah, I don't rise with the dawn). I plan to use the same fabric for a cover over the vent. Gotta coordinate, you know! :thumb:

Lindy replaced the curtain that ETI provided with one made from the excess upholstery material. It is long enough and wide enough to cover the cubbies, and if we wish we can pull it in front of the door to block any light coming in the window. I like ir especially since it doesn't bunch up when pulled back. It was very hard to leave the bathroom door open at night if the curtain was bunched. And if the bathroom door closed at night, it could get pretty chilly in there on a cold night.

another reason to install an electric wall heater under your bed in that corner, it keeps the bath warm, even with the door closed.
