Hi we have a new escape 17
I am unable to get the propane to work
the tanks have been filled

I want to have the refrigerator work on the propane while traveling and be able to light to stove when camping

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank You and Enjoy Your Day,🌷

2 things. Double check that the propane tank valves are opened. Then ignite and run the stove top for a quick spell. That purges air from the lines and brings the propane closer to the refrig.

You may have to
1. Close both propane tank valves
2. Disconnect your tank lines.
3. Reconnect the tank lines
4. Open a tank valve verrrrrry slowly.
5. Then open the other valve verrry slowly.
5 Go in the camper and open a burner on the stove standing by with a lighter.
6. You should hear or smell gas very shortly.
7. Light the burner and let it burn for a minute or so. Then shut it off.
8. Next turn your thermostat on your heater up to about 90 degrees. Flip the on off switch for the furnace.
You should hear the fan run to purge the system then the furnace will click and ignite the gas when the gas valve opens.
If the furnace thermocouple is ok and the sail switch is ok the furnace will start to blow hot air shortly.
On the refrigerator if you remove the outside cover you can sometimes hear the gas flowing.
The shield that covers the flame
Will get hot to the touch. It takes quite a while for the refrigerator to get cold. Could be a day or so in hot weather.
This is what I’ve learned in 12 years of Escape ownership. Your experience may be different and may not mirror mine and others may have other suggestions, adjustment of gas flow with a manometer reading
the adjustment etc. Hope this helps.

I found that repeating steps 1, 2, 3 & 4 was necessary on occasions to get the gas flowing.

those OPD valves on the propane tanks can be pretty sensitive and they can “stick”.
I have an 11 pound tank for our camp stove. It has been touchy since it was new. I have turned it
Upside down, valve closed, with the top of the tank on a picnic table seat and thumped the bottom ring with a light tap with a piece of 2x8 lumber.
Then turned it back upright and hooked it up to the stove and opened the valve very slowly. It has done the trick the few times I’ve had to do that. If it happens it’s always the first time I’ve used the tank after filling out of a large bulk tank. Probably not recommended by the safety folks but I take it pretty easy.

We went camping last week and of course ran the Fridge on propane until we hooked up. When we left I had the Fridge in AC - propane auto switch mode. I disconnected the AC and drove home but it seems the auto switch mode didn't auto switch. When we got home it was clear the Fridge was not running on propane. Point for me and maybe your situation is put the Fridge in the mode you want to run in because the auto switch feature maybe does not work how I thought it might ... But biggest issue I have had after the trailer has been stored is getting air out of the lines - good suggestions above. - Scott

I did that last week too. When I stopped for gas, I realized I had left the inverter on and the fridge was running off the batteries. Flipped off the inverter and propane fired up.
