Provincial and State Park Openings!

That is the big skyline drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. We stayed at the Moraine campground below, in September, I think it was. The elk herds were all on the move.

Otherwise known as Trail Ridge road, the second highest paved road in the lower 48. Always great elk action in RMNP. I'll be there this Fall. Horseshoe bend has the best photography options. The light is hard to beat. Moraine campground is the best for elk viewing.

There is a tiny NFS campground deep in the San Juan mountains I got reservations for. No hookup, no nothing. But the scenery! OMG! Ohhh, these are deep! Family can't come. Just me!

I hope you guys are out!

Gone!

The paper had an article in it this morning about how the lines have formed before first light to get into RMNP this week.

Apparently a lot of people want to get out too. The best strategy for a few weeks might be to go to the lesser known places and let the masses use the big name places. Until the newness wears off again.

Guess this says it all.

Quoting yourself is narcissistic, isn't it?
