Question Regarding he Anderson Hitch

Now that I read your post I believe that is the same issue I read on the other forum, just hadn't remembered the scenario correctly, the individual had the same issue, when he lifted his trailer off the hitch it would lift up the truck as if the ball was stuck inside the coupler. Wish I could locate the post but essentially that sounds like the same issue. Now this person had mentioned how there had been occasions when the truck had really bounced after the release. But sounds like it may have been an exaggeration?

Done and Done

Well this week we bought an Andersen Ultimate Hitch with a gooseneck style connector that we will have installed in the bed of our truck. After all the discussions on this forum, I was convinced that it was the right hitch for me. I came across one that was for sale on Kijiji in Calgary for an awesome price and so I had a friend of mine who lives there pick it up for me. On my way to Chilliwack this May I will stop in pick it up and then I made an appointment at Trademasters in Chilliwack to install the gooseneck mount in my truck.

Thanks to all again for your help! :thumb:

Trademasters will be installing my gooseneck mount on Tuesday. I'm fortunate enough to live less than 3 hours from Chilliwack. The reputation of Tradmasters on the forum makes the trip worth it IMHO. I'm staying at the best Western and will sign off on my build sheet at ETI also.

(Plus the company I do some consulting with has a site in Burnaby. I'm thinking a visit there would warrant a business expense.) :whistling:

How thick are your shims?
I haven't my trailer yet, but I am wondering if this is what would work?

(i am trying to attach a picture, but it doesn't seem to be working!)
Chotch, I just used rails leftover from our condo project that hold up ClosetMaid shelf brackets. They worked better but on our current ride down south still had a little clunking. The day before we left I received the sound dampeners from etrailer. A couple of days ago, while in Palo Dura Canyon Park in Texas, I removed the shims and installed the pads. I could only get three to be able to install the pins, so the fourth I'm using one of my shims. The hitch is now rock-solid and NO clunking.

Enjoy,

Perry
