questions for DIY modders on 19

I'm thinking about several things I might want to do but until I actually have it and use for awhile I'm not sure of exact locations.

Are the padded strips in the corners removable? How attached? I'm wondering about adding wires for things I'll add in upper dinette cabinets and wondering about running wires from lower to upper cabinets.

Is it possible to pull additional wires from the front to the back on drivers side either across upper cabinets or lower compartments back where factory wires run?

Jeff you can remove button there is a screws, that is where Escape runs wires . Sometimes you can just tuck your wires in there . Pat

You can ask them to run 12 volt drops to any cabinet. They coil the wire, but I don't believe they make any kind of direct connection to the circuit board. Easier to do that than trying to run your own, although it is possible. I solved the problem by simply adding 12 volt outlets where I thought they would come in handy. You have an outlet you can also tap into yourself later on.

I've got a few drops on my build list. I asked and they said the drops are 16G wire. Good for lighting but wondering about something that needed a bit more power so was thinking of running a few myself.

Wonder if they use the same 16G for actual 12v outlets. I recall some comment about using a small inverter in rear outlets and the voltage drop would cut off the inverter.

Also if I wanted to do my own 'solar ready' I'd need to run some cable for that from front storage box back into the bed area then up the wall to upper cabinet.

I had them add drops to the upper cabinets too. Mine were already hot when I picked up.

You can remove the corner trim with an automotive button puller, but it probably won't be necessary. You can just tuck the wires in.

Thanks, good to know. I thought I'd read a comment where they'd said couldn't upgrade the wiring. I'll ask for the larger wiring.

Maybe after my order they decided not to do it LOL.
Ask them, I did pay a nominal fee but it was worth it.
