Ready to retire and Escape.

I'm so bummed out that we won't make it to Bluebonnet this year! Our Casita will be there, but with her new owner. Too far for day trip and a hassle with two dogs. Plus there are no rooms in town. Oh well, I know everyone will have a great time.

Yes, very true, but you will have the chance to attend the Osoyoos Rally, the motherlode of Escape Rallies after pick up. Bluebonnet will be there next year, but driving to Chilliwack and Osoyoos, once in a life time.

Of course, the once in a life time Escape Rally event does happen every year, so if you miss one there is always later opportunities. :)

A couple more times for us and it will be the equivalent of driving around the world
to attend this event as it's about 5.000 miles out and back. Mostly owing to side trips to the Redwoods, Banff and Jasper, Glacier and the Bighorns. It's almost decadent to stop at Glacier to stay one night because it's "on the way".

Hi Alf,

Drove the Natchez Trace last year with my Sister in law from Kosciusko, MS to Nashville. What a laid back beautiful drive! Love the bumper sticker on your rig: "I go where I'm towed!"

Alf's sticker actually says "I go where I'm towed too!" We have the same on our 5.0, of course Alf put it on years ago.

Our daughter and son-in-law are moving to Columbus GA this summer, so guess it's FL for us next winter, somehow will try to do the Natchez trace maybe on our way home.

Was fortunate enough to retire at 50. Its been ten years now, it goes fast! This year we are committed to more experiences, and less everything else. Retirement "phase II" starts in May.

I was forced to retire the first time at age 50, but did not consider it fortunate as I could not afford to not work, so went back to school, became a pastor and worked another six years full time before retiring again at 63. Got the Escape the next year and have enjoyed it a lot, two winters in the south, right now we are "camping" at our son's place enjoying our own space away from the family, just wish it was a little warmer, down to -5C last night!

Ah! Even better! I didn't see the last word on my iPad but it is visible on my iMac.
