I thought I would share my photos on my rearview camera install. I really didn't find great photos or explanation of ETI how provides wiring on a paid preinstall. This is not the way, but its just a way to do an install. I have learned a lot from folks making You tube videos and posting in forums - so giving back.

Comment of Rearview camera install with ETI prewire

First sorry the photos rotated on upload - don't know how to rotate them back. This install is in a 2024 E19. ETI did a backup camera wiring preinstall. In my TT, there were 2 wire loops in the back cabinet over the rear window. Both loops have constant power if the TT has its power on - power does not come from the 7 pin cable from the TV. I asked ETI about this when they do their factory installs - they pull power from the rear brake lights. Okay? Therefore, if you want to turn power to the camera on/off you need to use a switch like you see photographed. I used Haloviews magnetic install kit so I did not drill holes to mount the camera. I just drilled the one hole to feed the wire through to the inside of the TT. I used marine sealant (uh oh forum firestorm !) to seal the wire entrance hole (48 hr dry time). I soldered wire connections and used shrink tube on the wires (considered best for low voltage). I then used the cable tie 3M stick on gizmo's photographed to secure the wire in the TT. The power switch also has stick on tape ... hope this can help some one. I am using Haloviews BT11 electronic rearview mirror system which has blind side monitoring (just FYI).
