Hi Folks, from the Willamette Valley! My wife and I are new owners of a gently-used 21NE, and we are enjoying it greatly.


As we are newbies, we have plenty to learn and experience first hand. Our shakedown trip went pretty well (no problems that we couldn't resolve) and we're going out again next month.

We’re in Corvallis. Just purchased a 2014 E19. Haven’t even towed yet. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed.

our 19 is the first camper that we have ever owned, once you take it out a few times it will seem like second nature. Just take your time all the way around and do one thing at a time.

When I first hitched it up, I spent about 20 minutes driving in circles at the Walmart to get the feel of it.


After 500 miles towing it on 126, 101, 22, I-5 etc, I almost forget it's back there.


I still need more practice backing it in to my rather compact parking spot, but so far no damage to house or trailer!

Welcome to Escape trailer ownership and in particular the 21NE. We just signed our build sheet for a 21NE after owning a 19. I’m sure you will love them. One of the tests of how good these trailers are was how easy it was to sell our older one at a very good price!. Happy adventures.

Welcome to the Escape family! We live in Salem and just sold our beloved 19 and will be taking delivery of a new 21C in about 3 weeks. These trailers are insanely easy to tow and you will no doubt have a great time using to to explore a lot of wonderful places.

About the only thing I can pass on from new towing experience is to be careful pulling into gas stations or anywhere there may be tight turning corners. Watch the trailer in the mirror and if it looks like you may hit something - stop. You can always backup or get someone to assist or even unhitch if you need to.

A friend who owns a Casita did about $14K worth of damage pulling into a fast food restaurant drive through and hit one of those posts that protect the menu sign. Not sure a quick burger is worth that. I almost did the same thing a few days after we picked up our 19, but fortunately I looked in the mirror just in time. Backed up and took a wider turn toward the gas pump and all was fine. Now it is almost second nature, but it took awhile. Love the idea of practicing in a large parking lot. I still need to work on backing up and that sounds like a great place to practice!

Thanks! Salem has some pretty tight turns for sure. I've been lucky thus far, haven't hit anything.

You may wish to discover Bullards’s Beach State Park…July 20-23rd this year when the FGRV/Casita rally takes place….a lot of very nice people attend…with different fgrvs…many of them Escapes!��
