While the Alberta rules make much more sense than ours, what would our Insurance companies and tax offices do without the additional revenue?.![]()
insurance specifically for the trailer ?Not possible here though. Tags require proof of insurance.
I could be wrong too. I produced the insurance for the trailer when I registered it - not the truck insurance. Perhaps the truck insurance would have worked too.I think you have to show proof of insurance on the tow vehicle to get the tag for the trailer - but I could be wrong... I always have it with me, but I honestly can't remember if they made me show it the last time I was there. It makes sense, really. If you need it to license the tow vehicle, that should be good enough.
Maybe your auto policy covers the trailer in such a situation, or maybe it doesn't. It would depend on your state / province / insurance company. Best talk to an agent and read the policy.
I pay for my trailer plate tag each year and I have comprehensive, collision and liability for the tow and trailer as separate policies.
What day trips do you suggest taking advantage of?Ditto KOA in Lynden. Still close to ETI, full hookups, and lots of good day trips from there.
