We have a 2018 Escape 5.0. While parked in our driveway awaiting use, it is plugged into a 20A 110V external house outlet to keep the battery charged and to enable the 110 outlets on/in the trailer. We are getting a recurring E2 error at unknown intervals. We will be at E0 with everything OK, but after a couple of days we will be back to an E2 with power blocked. If I unplug and reconnect the extension cord, the error will clear, but it comes back again in a couple of days. I am at a loss for what to check. Any suggestions?

The extension cord is a new 50' contractor-grade heavy-duty 12 gauge cord.

E2 indicates an "Open Ground" is detected (resulting in power shut-off).

Verify that the ground-pin is making good contact at all of the receptacles and adaptors between the house and the trailer (vigorous 'wiggle-test' at each to see if you can cause the error); the plug where you've been un/re-plugging to restore power is the prime candidate to suspect for a loose contact.

If you have the removable trailer cord, check the connection screws inside that receptacle (others have reported 'loosening' there over time), then the connections inside the EMS.

Finally, if the problem started with the "new" extension cord, it's always possible that you got a defective item with a loose connection molded into it (stuff happens).

Good Luck!

This did the trick. I found a loose ground connection on the removable 30A cord. Thanks for the help!
