Hi all, I’m starting an upgrade to lithium batteries and will be replacing the Go Power PWM charge controller that’s above the fridge in our 2016 5.0 with a Victron 100/30 that will be mounted under the curbside dinette seat. The main hold up in this process right now is finding a way to route the wires that go to the Go Power charger now, to the new charger close to the batteries. By removing the charger above the fridge, I see the wires coming from the PV panel on the roof, and the 8 AWG wires from the charger dropping down along the right side of the refrigerator. It’s beginning to look Iike I’ll have to remove the refrigerator. Is there any other way?

I might not understand the situation exactly but you shouldn't have to remove the fridge.

The fridge chase allows passage from the roof vent down by the fridge. The "floor" or bottom of the fridge cavity is over empty space. It's possible to run wires down through the floor then sideways into the area under the dinette and then around to the curb side.

Thanks Ron, I do see the chase way in the upper front corner of the cubby under the fridge floor and the bundle of wire from it running along behind that cubby wall then around the back of it any under the fridge. I appreciate your suggestion, it was one way I hadn’t considered. The other being through the upper ds cubby and down behind the corner trim. There’s a little work involved in any case and it won’t get done by over thinking it. After taking the front four screws out of the fridge, it seems pretty loose when I rock it. So I’m going to disconnect the gas line, the dc wires and the ac and see what happens.
Thanks, John

The upper route is quite viable also. The batten in the corner is easy to remove and it's an easy way to run new wiring vertically.

Removing the fridge is normally quite easy. Although some of have had a little difficulty because the fridge opening was really a tight fit. I haven't heard that complaint recently though.

Good luck

Ron
