Replacement tail lights

I had a curbside upper light fail recently and, like others, could not find replacements. I purchased the Optronics replacements on Amazon. Unfortunately they are a bit too short, necessitating filling a hole and drilling another hole to mount them. I removed both upper lights (one was still working and I’ll keep it as a spare). I cleaned the caulk up, polished the area and installed the lights today. I used a small plastic plug to fill the original hole, reapplied caulk and used a bit of butal tape over the holes for added weatherproofing.

It’s a 2014 21C, one of the originals. We love the curved door

We have a 2014 5.0 TA- Same curved airplane style door .

I think someone on the forum was making 3D printer backing plates- so that the original holes could be covered and then the new style lights could be used over top.

I did see those, but the plugs cost $.05 as opposed to almost $30 for the adapters. Not too worried about putting a small hole in her.
