Rock Creek / Kettle River Camp fire

My buddy reports that they are not getting in today, maybe tomorrow. Hot spots and dead fall.
They have been told all the RVs are OK.

Still keeping my fingers crossed because of all the conflicting reports.
But the information did come from authorities.

Buddy, Keath, says they are number 89 on the list of campers to go in to retrieve their rigs ( 10 at a time ). He figures he'll get in late today.
Says the people of Midway are fantastic and that their are only a few ***hole campers to contend with.

Good news gbaglo. Thank you and your friend for keeping us all in the loop. I'm glad your friend and everybody else is okay (even the ***holes).

This is really good news. I hope your friend's find all is well when they get to their rig. :thumb:

Bless the firefighters! :smitten:

First bus, with 30 campers aboard, has left Midway for the campground. Buddy Keath, expecting to board a bus in a couple hours.
Premier of BC showing up for a photo op this afternoon. Campers hoping that doesn't delay them.

Hope nobody suffered, whether financial loss, ruined vacation, or any other loss. Nice to hear that, in crises, most people "pull together". Sad to hear that, in crises, some people don't.

Don't sweat the small stuff, "small" being an elastic term depending on the situation.

I read every single post on the Escapeforum, that's my JOB. But folks that need to bug out and leave their trailer and/or tug, get EXTRA attention.

Glenn, are your friends doing Okay?

Waiting to hear. Told him to take pix for insurance purposes, even if nothing is evident now, particularly the roof and awning. Haven't heard that he has seen his trailer yet. He did see the Premier...

Oh Boy! Really feeling for all those people!!!! Ever since the first post I have been thinking "that could have been me" .... well almost .... my trailer hasn't been built yet but my build sheet is in ..... anyway I'm very much hoping for the best for everyone ... the West is having such a hard time! We are even dry up here in SE Alaska .... a rainforest!

Let the rains come but gently please.

Buddy, Keath and brother and wives have been into the site, picked up their trailers and are heading home tomorrow. All is well.
On the other hand, almost 30 homes in the area have been destroyed. My guess is most wouldn't have insurance.

Really good news for your friends . Sorry for those that lost their homes and belongings . I can't imagine what this would feel like . Also for the stress that your friends have had to endure . Glad it's ok . Pat and Linda

We are so happy to hear your friend Keath and his wife got back to get their trailer and vehicle. We have been watching the news and Facebook for updates. We were so lucky to get out of the campground when we did and we feel so fortunate that we didn't have to go through what your friends went through.

Leaving Kettle Provincial Park after fire raced through.
