Scissors type stabilizers

I've been told by someone who asked for the scissors that Reace will no longer put then on because he doesn't want anyone to use them for anything other than stabilizing and minor level fine tuning, not for jacking or big leveling adjustments.

can see Casita needing a visit, but what does the Escape need/want?

I believe the op went there and Little House Customs and other than a spare part
nothing else was really needed but they did get a spare hinge part for the refer, just in case.

Larry will also put on the dual step on an Escape if you so desire. And he's a real pro when it comes to hepvro valves if you don't wish to cut and glue PVC. Or maybe you want a lighted hot water switch for both electric and propane.

And you have to have an appointment. Larry is scheduled out weeks. No drop ins.

Jim, what is lighted, do they indicate when on with electric power?

The on/off switch indicates that the water heater is on, remains lighted until turned off. There is a separate fault light in case there is an issue. Mine is just propane but this indicator should work the same with those dual type, indicating it is in operation.
The older style light would go off once ignited, thus the need for a indicator light, no longer needed.

Our water heater switch inside is for propane only. There is no such switch for electric. We turn it on and off outside and no way to know that it is on except if it happens to be running. Then maybe we can tell from the EMS amps.

We turn it on briefly in the morning and again in the evening. That is enough to keep the water hot unless it is cold weather.

But it stays lighted when you are using it on propane, does it not? I guess those with the dual option would need a reminder that it is on when only using electric and not both propane and electric?

If it is lighted for electric, we do not know it. Gee, that would be nice news. We thought it was for propane only. That is what they told us, I think. Someone else will have to comment if that also works for electric because we never noticed or used it. Of course, we rarely have our electric on for the water heater.

Well it should stay on if using for both propane and electric and since the electric will keep the propane use to a minimum, in effect it should work as a reminder the water heater is opening.

Larry Gamble can also install aftermarket things like a Hepvo valve (instead of the P Trap which hangs below the frame), a 2 step entry, weigh your tongue, and install 'fridge hinge supports, reflective belly band. Plus, he's out in the boonies and you can go fishing while he works. ;-}

Lighted switches

Speaking of lighted switches; Does the Escape water pump have a lighted switch? I installed an LHC lighted one in my Casita and find it is very useful to know that I forgot to turn off the water pump.

We stopped at LHC to have a double step installed. While Linda was handling the steps nimbly, the Yorkies and I found the drop just too much with the high lift kit. Many people use the portable step with great success but unfortunately I manage to usually get my foot stuck on it and kick it aside creating even more challenge for myself. Double step isn't a necessity for everyone but is certainly a necessity for me. We intended to have him do the Hepvo valve too to get rid of our p-trap. However, after looking at the plumbing from the shower to the grey tank it was pretty obvious that there is actually a slight uphill rise rendering use of a Hepvo on our trailer ineffective as there would always be water trapped between the shower drain and the Hepvo. So Larry and I decided there was no point in installing it on our trailer as we would still have to use the shower drain "screw in thing".. We also had a bad water heater module which Larry quickly took care of. And being from Texas we went ahead and picked up the mud dauber screens for the furnace and water heater vents. As for using the scissors jacks to raise a dual axle trailer to change a tire? Not really necessary (unless you blow two tires) as you can get a ramp-like gadget from Amazon (or make your own) and drive the good wheel onto it so you can change the bad tire without jacking. Those also work great at the dump station for getting the last 3-4 gallons of water out of the grey tank. Anyway, that's the long answer as to why we stopped at LHC.

Sounds like someone turned the electric on before filling the hot water tank? Another reason why I avoid the dual power units. Post #35 shows the new style monitor with lighted water and water heater switches which stay lighted while in use which were mentioned earlier in this thread.

Jim, we turn the pump off when going away for an extended period. The pump maintains the water system at 55psi +/-. If there were to be a leak that occurred you would pump your entire fresh water tank into the trailer.

No different than your home, it is easy to maintain the water system to have no leaks. I did have a wee leak in bath tap in a previous trailer, and it was obvious by the pump "grunting" while it was on, which was a good warning that I needed to fix it, and I did.

To be fair, I tend to be the type that does not worry much.
