We've had our Escape 19' for a while now and are very happy with the build quality ... with only one exception: the Shower Curtain, Rods and Hooks. I called Dawn at Escape After Sales, who said this is a common complaint, not with just Escape trailers, but also across the entire RV industry. Does any one have a suggestion for replacing the Shower Curtain, Rods and Hooks? Thanks.

Following!!! I have tried a small tension rod in my 17b, but due to the curve of the corners, it doesn't quite fit the way I would like it to. Don't want to remove what is there, but want something more flexible and easy to open and close.

I'm not a fan of 'traditional' shower curtains, so ordered my Escape with that curtain and hardware 'loose / not installed' with no holes drilled in the bath module for mounting. I took the curtain and hardware for DIY installation in case I didn't find a better alternative solution. ETI had no problem with this, it was a "no charge" item on my build-sheet.

Above my bath door (inside) I mounted an inexpensive white vinyl pull-down roller shade, purchased at Home Depot where it was cut to my specified width. The width I specified covers from the inside corner of the bath module by the door to the front of the step-up where the toilet sits (mine is a 5.0, E19 bath arrangement is likely different?), thereby overlapping the door opening on both sides, top, and bottom. I installed it 'reverse' from a typical window installation, so the shade is against the door frame (behind the roller) when pulled-down.

Pros
  • It contains water / splashes inside my bath when showering
  • It's completely out-of-the-way when rolled-up
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • It requires a wipe to remove water drops / prevent mildew when 'stowed'; I usually wipe it down along with the rest of my bath, exit the shower, and then pull it back down to air-dry for a while after a shower
  • It does not isolate the 'toilet area' from the 'shower area'
If the spring-retracting mechanism ever fails or the material gets 'funky', a replacement is cheap at any HD.

BTW, I'm a no-kids / solo traveler, I leave the hinged door open when showering.

I'm happy with it but realize it's not for everyone, just for your consideration.
