Side Effect's 1st Retirement Adventure

We just ran into Dr. Veronica in her 2012 19 at Rocky Springs Campground on the Natchez Trace Parkway.

She has put a ton of miles down on her Escape and is heading back home after being on the road, coast to coast, since June.

Travel safe Dr. Veronica.

Tomorrow morning our 1st retirement adventure begins. 25 days from St. Louis to the Panhandle and back. Our longest trip so far was the 10 days coming back from Sumas when we picked her up 2 years ago.

We're loaded up. I have one last sales call at noon and when I get home I'll hitch her up so we can just hop in and roll out in the morning.

Exciting Times!
We are in STL as well. We just ordered so will pick up our 23 next summer.

This is how dark it is here. It’s scary dark!

Our view at Site D-9 at Merrisach Lake Campground just outside of Tichnor, AR for the next 3 nights.

Nice campground.

Willie, It was good visiting with you and Nancy last week! I saw that Fort Pickens campground is closed Monday - Friday this week, so it's a good thing you got out of there! Enjoy the rest of your trip and here's to a long, happy retirement! I think you are going to have a hard time wearing out that Escape but give it a good try!

This is the 2nd time I’ve had one of these door hinge pins fall out during a travel day.

They are simple to reinstall but does anyone have any good ideas on how to prevent that from happening?

Interesting place to Escape. One side of our view is Lake Merrisach and the other is a shipping channel.

A bit cold this morning, 38 F, and good thing we have the strip heater in out Coleman Mach 10 AC.

Since we will be heading farther north towards home on Friday I thought I’d give the gas furnace a run through. NOPE! Blower fan will not turn on.

Looks like a little forum searching and diagnostics are in order.

Ahhh, the joys of retirement life.😉

We are on shore power and are using gas’s for stove and hot water heater.

** Turned manual tstat on and set temp- Nope not even the fan will turn on
** Jumped across Dometic Manual TStat- Nope. But fan runs for a period time before shutting off. Red light on control board only flashed once
** Replaced sail switch - Nope
** Did multiple hard resets by turning the Off/Reset switch- Nope
** Triple checked all connections - Nope

Got any ideas? Bad Manual TStat? Most likely not. Bad Control Board? Maybe?

WillyB, make sure your thermostat is in AUTO mode before turning on the Heat and setting the temperature. It is a confusing operation, but will only run if in AUTO mode.

I have the manual tstat and it only has a basic switch for On or Off.

Well we’re back in Missouri to the cool/cold weather for a couple of nights. It’s looking like we’ll come back a day early because high winds.

Redman Creek Campground East Site 23 at Lake Wappapello.

It’s been a great retirement Escape so far!
