My wife and I signed the build sheet this evening for a 5.0 . Excited and a little nervous.
Mid June deliver date.
We are moving from a 34 ft class A. Kids are grown and have kids, we no longer need that large of a unit. Or the 6 to 7 miles per gallon.

This forum has been very helpful answering questions we’ve had.
Thanks to all and will keep participating.

I also am taking delivery in June for my 5.0 and signed build sheet,, and if it makes you feel any better I too am nervous,, the worst part is the 3 price increase since deposit was made which adds 10k$ But I am at the age where it is do or die and like they say [you can’t take it with you] applied to me.

Good luck safe travels

Congratulations to you both. Hope you make many memories and you each enjoy your 5.0. There truly is nothing like it out there.

Whoa, two more 5.0’s in the California Bay Area. I think you’ll like it.

Grasshog, good to hear you got your build sheet signed.

Rest assured you've made a wise choice...I love my 5.0 more and more as time goes by, which was not the case with any of my other trailers. I hope to see you on the road somewhere here in Norcal! In the meantime, try to stay dry down there...

Just curious, when have you put your deposit down? I’ve agonized for almost 14 months and cancelled last year, now I just signed up back again for a 5.0 and ETA is October, which is only 7-8 months! Lead times are way down it seems.

Yes, lead times have definitely been decreasing. I also have a deposit and signed build sheet on a 5.0. Initial completion date was April 2024, now it’s end of June 2023. There is another recent thread discussing this: https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f31/lead-times-way-down-deposit-in-2-15-already-a-move-up-to-6-28-so-will-be-s-24351.html

We sent the deposit the first week in January (1/3/2023) Originally build date was Aug 2024.
We keep shopping for a used unit not wanting to wait that long. They moved our date to June 28th and then offered to move it to earlier in June.
We struggled with the question “will the prices come down, are we over paying?”
The bottom line, YES we are probably over paying some. But the used prices are also over priced at this time and unless someone “has to sell” the prices will most likely stay close to where they are.
I don’t think Escape will lower their base price.

Our motorhome has just able every bell and whistle available, the 5.0 not so much.
It will be different type of camping.

Yes, the lead times are way down. I put a deposit in for a E19, Was a 1 3/4 years out! Found a Classic used one. So cancelled. But found the biggest thing is the screen door for me. So finally hearing the lead times were down. Put a deposit down again around 2/15. Now should be ready 6/28. For me it was deposit & within a week having start coming up with the build sheet. I heard the 17s are shorter yet! I think it has to do with the mold use. More people are wanting the 5.0s & 21s.

5.0

I’m hoping I share that experience Joe ,,Rick said he got a Lotta good advice from you so I know you know right? Ha ha but I am a little concerned I’m coming out of a 33 foot fifth wheel and I have a lot of junk. I guess you go with what the saying is “ you travel, light, you travel, right”

We also had a class A and never brought a toad. When we got our 5.0, it had about the same living space as our tiffin. We haven’t looked back and miss none of the negative things about owning a class A (mechanical issues). Also, our 5.0 build quality is excellent. I’ve read here that some folks have had build quality issues but we haven’t had anything pop up that was anything but minor.

Got an email from Karl yesterday, our trailer has entered production and we will start to receive pictures once the floor is installed.

I wonder if it takes longer for 5.0 than an E19? When is your finish date? I guessing I should be hearing pretty soon about mine go into production. 6/28 date.

Our first baby picture.

Exciting times are coming your way!
