Why is there no real fb page? Like Airstream Addicts ? You could call it Escape Eccentrics.

Recent discussion of this topic: Escape Owners Facebook Page

The OP commented that he thought the forum was good for technical stuff but FB might be good for the lighter stuff.

Well, there's lot's of lighter stuff on this forum, even without poutine. :)

I guess the bottom line is that the majority of forum users are pretty satisfied with using this forum without having to use two separate sites.

You want it? Start it. All Facebook pages need an administrator. I'm already managing three groups on Facebook. I really like Social Media, but chasing off all the hackers and spammers gets really old. If you think discussions head south here occasionally, it can get real wild on Facebook.

I would start one if I had a computer. Hard to manage anything on a smartphone.

We've had a couple of requests for an escape FB page to be a partner page for this site and will get one set up. Anyone interested in managing it?

Not sure how dividing a pot into smaller and smaller pieces adds value.
I'm pretty much done with the interweb and plan to just go camping.

Totally agree!!! Gives only more dishes (that can break)...

I respectfully disagree. The forum is a great way to get information, but different individuals have different preferences. For example, my wife rarely visits the Casita forums, but she loves the Escape Owners FB page. Just saying...

I would agree with Fred. Not to be critical but the forum gets so far off the original posters' topics that the search function is almost useless. A discussion on cooktops can get as far off the mark as who is playing in the horseshoe tourney at a rally. (I just made that one up by the way). That is OK on FB but it makes navigating a forum sorta hard if one is looking for information on a specific subject. Just an observation from someone new to this forum. There is some amount of fun to the forum being the social medium but it is definitely at the expense of easily searching for technical or perhaps build sheet or specific mod information. FB is a great place to drift off topic and have fun because it goes away after a day or two anyway. Again, just a random thought to provide some food for thought.

Can you please explain why Facebook is a preference?
I find FB quite annoying as it decides what I'm interested in and I have to repeatedly scroll through stuff I've already read, or have no interest in.
Maybe I've just never got the hang of it, but, with a lot of people heading elsewhere ( Pinterest, Instagram, Grinder ), I don't understand why forum members would want to migrate to FB.

The forum search function works just fine for me, as long as I'm using the right search terms. Not really interested in a FB page to supplement it. Just a personal preference, but for me FB is tiresome. Tons of spam and suggested pages that I haven't the slightest interest in.

I just Googled "Escape Owners Facebook page" and was offered links that had nothing to do with Escape trailers. The first link that showed up was to this forum suggesting somebody create a Facebook page. ;D

gbaglo,

I think you kinda hit the nail on the head. In my wife's case, FB is the venue that she is most comfortable with. In your case, the Escape Forum is the venue that you are most comfortable with. In my case, I love both of them. I don't plan to migrate from the forum to FB. I would utilize both venues comfortably.

Not sure how to fix topic drift, but you have a better shot at finding information you want by using the Google Search at the bottom of the search box.
With the amount of information and misinformation that's posted on the web every second of the day, I'm surprised to find anything useful at all.

FB and I are getting along better since I learned that I could "unfollow" people. I didn't have to "unfriend" them - their posts just don't show up at all.

Of course, after a time, one could find that the only posts that appear are their own. :ermm:

I understand that, but adding activity in Facebook won't change anything in the forum, unless the rules are radically changed and moderators actively cut off anything "social"... and I believe that would effectively and rapidly kill the forum.
