Where did you go? I lost your website, and because of all the business during the holidays, I couldn't keep up. However I certainly enjoyed your trip!

hi Sandra (and all)

the new address is web.me.com/mosquitodirk - I made it simpler so I could make more changes.

I'm home now (the new adventure of organization) - so fewer blog entries in the next while. The next trip is in March to Moab and other national parks in that area. Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Dirk

Thanks Dirk, :)
I will enjoy the catching up, I'm sure. Others in warmer climes can enjoy also without fear of frostbite.
BTW what are you going to do vis a vis the rock guard fasteners? Do you think those velcro sticky back tabs would suffice?
Thanks again,
Sandra

Hi Dirk,
I have enjoyed your journey as well. Where do you find out about "how to blog?". Is there specialized software? Something you would advise, or recommend? We pick up HokieEscape the end of March and begin a 2 1/2 week adventure across our great country the first two weeks of April. I'd like to record and share the adventure. Thanks

Hi Sandra,

My rock guards are held on with snaps - seems fine so far. The salt caused the tabs that hold my rock guard down to corrode, looking into a solution for that.

HokieEscape - I have a Mac, and it comes with iWeb (really simple webpage software with a blog option). I think "blogspot.com" is a good place to start for online blogs - the nice thing is that it can be updated from anywhere (I need to have my computer with me to do updates).

Cheers,
Dirk

Yep.. blogspot.com works.. On zimodecast.com I use wordpress as my software..it's opensource/free.. I just pay for the hosting of my site, which I like as I get total control over the look & feel of it.. I also use the same hosting company sub-domain feature to put up this forum as well..

I wonder if WD 40 would help. :-\ I use it on my gardening tools. Perhaps some sprayed on a cloth and then applied might do the trick. I'd check with Reace so as to be sure not to loosen those tabs.

Ciao for now

I tried that, but they are good and corroded (beyond fixing). I don't think the WD 40 is even getting in there.

I'm hoping to put something together with hydraulics (ala my truck canopy). I'll post something if it works.

Cheers,
Dirk

Thanks Dirk and Jeff! I went to blogspot.com and actually created a spot. Yes, me, who is semi- computer illiterate! I'll practice a few times before the big trip. Much easier than I thougt!!! Thank you sooooo much.
