I would add Texas Pride to the list. We used to use it for slug bait in the garden when I lived in Austin.

I agree to that but beer's cooling effect seems to take longer to enjoy....

I think I recall Grainbelt beer was the cheapest beer when I was in college in Rock Island, IL. I learned to drink beer in Bavaria while studying German between my sophomore and junior college years. Been a beer snob ever since. Most of the time, I would rather drink water than cheap beer. Never tried Grainbelt.

While I agree with that comment sometimes it takes some rotgut beer taste to appreciate the better beer.

In my younger beer drinking days , I couldn’t afford to drink Grainbelt which was considered an expensive, imported beer because it came from the other side of the river

We drank Pfeiffers - 3 cases for $7 + bottle deposit at Ernie’s Liquor Store . It was brewed in St Paul Mn by the Jacob Schmidt Brewery Co.
My wife likes the expensive craft beers but for me paying a buck a bottle for beer just doesn’t seem right and would detracts from the enjoyment .
Lately they’ve had Hamms (another old St Paul Mn brewery ) on sale -30 can case / $ 9.99
Time to stock up for the Summer plus it’s great for controlling slugs in your garden .

Since this pandemic I have missed 4 HH fridays with $2 drafts. I prefer draft beer vs bottle or can, non pasteurized beer tastes better, IMHO and I drink it like water. It is also better for you that pasteurized beer which kills the yeast and I quote The downside of pasteurization is that it alters the taste and destroy the natural yeast and enzymes in the beers, and along with them, potential health benefits.
Non pasteurized beers have better taste and better health benefits since it is not subjected to heat.

Sounds like a beer Escape Rally needs to be planned.........

There are beer experts in our midst. I’m not one of them. At the Mississippi Rally two years ago at our meet and greet we had beer school with samples of several different beer types. There was also a mixologist there who was serving up Wisconsin Old Fashions. That was a good night the best I recall. Last year we had about 6 good beers at the Escapes and Canapés along with an excellent Couvosier VSOP Cognac. The term conviviality comes to mind. I prefer Belgian whites and Czech pilsners myself but only drink two. The first one and the last one. My two all time favorites are Cold Beer and Free Beer. A very nice gentleman gave me this beer at Pikes Peak, before I could crack it, a person who I thought was my friend, opened it and drank it.

Shucks, that ain't nothin- My wife drives 18 miles round trip daily in her Electric Volt. Plugs it in when she gets home and its good for 40 miles. She has charge to spare when she wants it. Computer starts her car on gas every six months to keep the gas from going bad. However, my F 150 V-8 only gets 14 mph when towing our 5.0. Mel
