We pick up our new Escape 19 in May. Before pulling the trigger on a new Dickenson Spitfire 180 BBQ, I just want to confirm that there is a place to store it in the Escape 19 without having to make modifications. Will it fit in the passenger side dinette storage bench? under the bed? in the outside storage box?

Our tug is an SUV and I really don't want it inside the car.

I stow mine under the drivers dinette seat. I had to modify a brace is all to allow room, and put some cleats on the bottom that keep it in place nicely. However, since they started using a larger black tank, which takes up more space in the dinette seat, they also started putting a lot of the electrical stuff in there too, which I believe would eliminate this spot.

However, I can see no reason why it could not be stored under the dinette bench on the passenger side, but maybe someone with a newer 19 could confirm.

Could someone please confirm that the Dickinson Spitfire 180 BBQ can be stored in the dinette bench in a new Escape 19 without having to make modifications to the trailer.

Dave, I would imagine you would need to adjust a vertical support that is in the middle, under the long bench hinge. I had to do this, though pretty easy to do. I just cut new pieces to angle back a bit, to get that wee bit of room I needed. I tip the BBQ with the front down, and once inside roll it to upright, easy peasy. :)
