Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.

I received the e-mail from ETI with instructions for warranty service with Suburban. Unfortunately, this recall completely deletes the 12V wiring thus eliminating the oven light and LED knob lights due to an improperly coated printed circuit board (PC:cool:. The light switch is to be removed and covered with a plastic cover plug. I contacted Suburban about when and if a replacement PCB would be available to return the light functionality of the oven; I was told there is no timeline to replace the PCB.

The Suburban recall notification states "The Recall population encompasses all the ranges made with the defective red LED Backlit knobs. Ranges not involved either have no LED backlighting or have Blue LED Backlights."

Our 2023 E19 Suburban range has blue lights, but I received a recall notification.

Not Escapes fault - but as expected, when I called the local RV repair place, (which is on the Suburban recommended service center list) I was told they really don’t want to do the recall work cause they never get paid. Figured that was coming.

Kosta, will Escape reimburse for any extra cost for the Suburban recall fix over the .3 hr that Suburban has authorized for this fix? The local Suburban authorized RV shop is saying they may charge more than .3 hr.

My 2023 Escape 5.0 TA has a Suburban oven with blue LEDs inside the control knobs. Unfortunately, Suburban told me (after providing them with the oven stock number and serial number) my oven is subject to the recall. Suburban stated to me that they will send the part kit and cover labor for any "certified" RV service business, even if they are not listed on their website as an authorized service provider. Suburban also indicated future replacement LEDs on a printed circuit board is planned, although there was no timeframe.

I asked Suburban if they will send me the recall kit (233754) which includes the plug; they will not send. Suburban stated that they will only send the kit to a RV repair business. You can view the "206346 Range and Slide-in Deactivate Red Lights Instructions" from Suburban. I plan on pulling the wires which power the LED Knob lights from the oven / stove switch; this will allow the oven light to remain functional and will deactivate the LED knob lights. The Suburban recall specifies that the RV 12V power supply wires are to be cut and capped and that the oven switch is be removed and a plastic cap put in place of the switch. I wonder if Suburban will replace the LED knob lights in the future?

Thanks for this info. If/when you do this, do mind videoing it and sending it to me personally? I will do it also because waiting for an appointment at an RV dealer is going to ruin the whole summer. If the 'fix' makes it safe then that's all I need to do for now. There are 10's of thousands of these stoves in every make and model of RV you can imagine so it's going to be a huge mess.
Thanks again for the reply.

I contacted a Suburban service center in Washington and they had no knowledge of the recall. (I did not want to go there because it's a few hours from where our trailer is stored). The option to have the kit sent to a more local RV center is a much better option. Thank you for the person who shared this. Our question is how risky not disconnecting the wires may be since there is currently no replacement option.

We would also appreciate a video of how you pull the wires which power the LED Knob lights from the oven / stove switch. Trying to take the trailer to a dealer is time consuming when there is no 'fix'. Thank you!

Suburban also indicated future replacement LEDs on a printed circuit board is planned, although there was no timeframe.

I wonder if Suburban will cover the cost of reinstalling the replacement circuit board when it is available. I am about to put my trailer in storage for the winter. Maybe I should waiting until the spring before having the LEDs disconnected. Hopefully by then the replacement parts will be available. That's probably wishful thinking that it will be ready in 6 months.

I spoke with Suburban customer service today and they felt a replacement circuit board would be available by the spring. As we are putting our trailer in storage for the winter, I think we will forgo having the recall done at this time and hope the parts are available before our first trip next spring. I asked if Suburban would be covering the cost of the installation of the new circuit board and the person I spoke with felt that they would. I asked how we would be notified when the new parts were available and they said we would be notified by our dealer again.
