Several weeks ago I posted that we had 99 days until we picked up our 2012 Escape 19 at ETI. I was quite wrong.
Friday evening my spouse and I were to meet some friends at Morro Bay SP campground for a drink and chat. I really didn’t want to go as I was concerned about my birthday party on Saturday and us needing to get the house ready – new flooring had been installed last week and we had no furniture in the living and dining rooms. Add to this, that the flooring people had been delayed and the stairs hadn’t been finished and baseboards had yet to be installed. I was stressed and dressed in yoga pants and a sweatshirt said to Lori as we were leaving the house: “let’s just stay for a short time and come back and get the house ready.” She said okay.
We arrived at the campground and head to our friend’s site and I saw an Escape – I said “look, there’s another…” and then I saw the “happy birthday” tape around it and friends popping out from behind the caravan shouting “surprise!”
I was stunned and couldn’t get out of the truck, for a moment I just sat there. I was quite emotional – completely floored to say the least. My brain didn’t engage for the longest time! I finally managed to get my seatbelt off, get out of the truck, and to my surprise my legs held me up. We spent the weekend in our yet to be named caravan, with our friends, and camping – life doesn’t get any better than that!
Apparently, Lori had been planning this for quite some time and even had ETI in on it. She encouraged me to set up the appointment to pick up our Escape and it was confirmed for the end of May. She had our friends in on it and she didn’t give a hint. I am so overwhelmed that I don’t know what else to say, so here’s a picture.
