From the photos I am not able to determine just how these legs work. They look similar to ones I have seen that were bolted to the floor and then the pipe was screwed in. My wife says they are telescoping. Can some one clarify?

Wives are ALWAYS right! The posts are crimped on both ends and fit into the cups mounted on the floor, and under the table top.

The legs definitely don't telescope, but the top does slide side to side to allow easy entry on the bathroom side.

Since the legs are crimped I assume they simply pull out of their respective sockets. Probably necessary to start on the top crimp/socket and remove the table. This allows access to pull the legs out of the floor socket? What do you do with the legs if you want to make the table into a bed?

What if you travel with the dinnette in the bed position? Where so you secure the legs? I can see them bouncing and wandering all over a trailer in tow.

Yes, the legs pull out of the sockets. I have only once done this when my daughter was sleeping with us. They can just go underneath. If travelling just put them under the benches, or something, just deal with them like pretty much anything you stow.

you put the legs "to bed" (ie. under the covers). Simple, and they're with you in case you change your mind and need the dinnette.

We found ourselves doing as Jim said. We put the table legs on the ground under the table. Typically, we had a couple of other things under there which kept them from bouncing around. Didn't seem to be a problem at all.
