Initial towing experience: When we left Chilliwack, on the way to the ferry at Horseshoe Bay (along the Trans-Canada # 1), most of the time, the truck didn’t even know it had the trailer behind it. I cruised at 100 km/h, at times to 110, to pass slower vehicles However, I did notice, depending on traffic, a bit of an erratic shifting (up & down). Our Titan has a feature called the “Tow Mode”, that I had a hard time to have explained to me (including the dealership). However, in a passing conversation with Wayne at TradeMasters, on finding out that I had this feature, he suggested... when towing, leave the trannie in Drive, engage the “Tow Mode”... and simply be “happy”. Being the sceptic that I am, I thought, “Oh Sure”. However, after experiencing the erratic shifting, I pressed the “Tow Mode” button. I couldn’t believe it... this rascal had a mind of it’s own. Smooth sifting up and down hill, driven by the speed that I was trying to maintain. The trailer followed beautifully.
Really good stuff, until we got to the Island. Off the Island Parkway to our home, over a distance of 5 km, we have 22 curves and one rather steep climb and its associated decent. Now... the Titan knew that it had a load behind him. Not heavy... but unlike the Trans-Canada. Quite a difference on tight, short changes in terrain. All of this was experienced at a “Dry Weight” trailer rating of 1,523 kg.
Also attached a couple of pics of the "new" storage access door above the propane tanks. Inside storage dimensions: 38" W x 18" D x 19" H.
Travel Safe,
