That was one long wait. Now, on to the interior finishing.

The finishing too could be a bit of a wait. Darn work is busy for a short bit here, and I really need to push a few other projects through to clear the schedule and shop of clutter first.

It looks awesome. It seems so big. Wonderful paisley-type fabric. That is what it reminds me of anyway but yours is better.

It is a large sized paisley print.

Hi Jim,

- what's the round thing between the door and the wheel well?
- is the thing under the curb side lower aft running light a hatch for wiring or what?
- is that a 120V outlet on the street side next to the lower fore running light?

And on the inside:
- is that a standard mattress? It looks very UI comfy.
- is that a blue electrical box hanging loose over the sink area? What are your plans for it?

IMO your choices of fabric and flooring nicely complement the wood and have "clean" lines, but they are visually interesting enough to look at over the years. For me, that last feature is the most important and hardest to achieve. I'm even more impressed than after my first glance yesterday.

- the round thing is the CSA approval sticker
- that is the battery vent
- next to the light is the hatch for the cabinet, and the latch for holding the door open. The 120V receptacle is right behind the rear tire.

- haven't slept on the mattress yet, but it does seem fine.
- that blue box is but a blue paper tag stuck there.

We are pleased with how the fabric and floor tied in too.

I have considered Corian, but it is a fair bit heavier than plywood with a laminate, as even if I use the thin stuff, it still needs good support under do to the fact it sags easily. Plus, it is real tough to source, as they will only sell to qualified installation companies.

But, the counter and table top are yet to be decided. I still have to decide on a door style. Going to keep it simple though.

They are just knots in the plywood. The step is screwed into place. As you likely realize, you will have to do a fixed bit on the right side of the step so it misses the drawer front when lifting. Chris R had a good looking solution to this I may incorporate.

That was yesterday Adrian, not too bad today, and cooling into the week. Right now I am at my computer doing up estimates for work. Gotta pay for the trailer and mods after all.

Yours is pretty nice as well. Glad you made it home safe and sound. Think of us on Feb. 16, that's the day we plan to drive the Coq, mind you we won't be pulling the trailer. Still we are hoping for dry conditions but have snow tires.

Yes Jim you are right that was yesterday that it hit 13 there but sure it's pretty nice there today. We have it zero right now, had about 4 cm of snow this am.

The Coq was in very good condition. A bit wet in one spot after an overnight skiff of snow, but excellent winter conditions. I did keep it under the 120 kph speed limit most of the time.

The Coquihalla can be a challenge to drive during the winter when the big snowfalls occur. Most of the time it is in good driving condition.

There is an alternate route on TC 1 through the Fraser River Canyon. It may take longer but is a much more pleasant drive to do IMHO. Not a 4 or 6 lane freeway, more scenic, much lower elevations, gets far less snowfall, less climbing and descending on long hills, less traffic now that the Coq takes most of it and the Coq is the shorter and preferred route by many. TC1 does have more curves and slow areas but I find it more enjoyable to drive my vehicle rather than just steer it as you do on a freeway. If you are not in a hurry, I recommend TC1 through the Fraser Canyon over the Coq. TC1 can also experience bad snow conditions but not as frequently as The Coq.

There is also a third option on Hwy 3. But this route can be similar to the Coq during the winter for snowfall conditions. Once again much longer route to get to the Okanagan. A good route to take if you are going to the Escape Rally in Osoyoos right from ETI pickup.

How receptive was Escape to the deletion of certain components on your rig? I presume you chose to customize your 5th wheel when you placed your order?

We've toyed with the notion of buying new, but I would likely change a number of items (I'm a retired cabinetmaker).
