The Dream Did Come True

Very exciting, Jim. Congratulations! Will probably be a bit different planning for this new one with all the Escape knowledge you now have!
Thanks! This knowledge can be advantageous, but also create havoc in my mind, as I try to decide what all to do. :)
Congratulations....we have spent 4 months in a row in Florida, plus another 25 days in other places, we love it, and have absolutely no regrets - it hooks up and tows like a dream.
We get excited every time we get in it....I'm sure you will too!! It feels huge compared to our 17, the other thing I really like is it is no longer in overall length when hooked up.
Have fun putting it all together ,
Chapi
Thanks. Owning and Escape trailer is a good thing, but it is how it enables you to get you that makes it great. :)
Congrats! So when is it due? New camper, new truck. This will be fun to watch progress. :thumb:
Thanks. yes, lots of fun times ahead. :)

Thanks. The Mid Atlantic, and many other destinations will be in the works into the future. These purchases might cause a bit of delay to permanent retirement though. I do plan on doing the cork sometime in the future, though seeing how long my list of mods already is, who knows when it all will happen. :)

Thanks, Donna. It has been in the works for a while now, I just decided to come clean with my intentions. :)

New Rigs, New Digs

Jim,
Good to hear you are making your dreams come true. Sometimes it's a little scary taking big jumps a little later in life. I think you are on the right path by right sizing now and setting up for the foreseeable future.
Welcome pad is always out here in Eastern Iowa, not if, but when you come this way. Cold Beer, big campfires, and shoot guns off the porch if you'd like, here in Benton County Iowa. Live the dream, it's only money, you can make more.

Thanks for the offer Dave, I certainly hope to take you up on it some day in the not too distant future. :)

Congrats Jim. I know you will enjoy it. Come visit the Driftless Region with it and stop by for some homebrews.

Driftless region

You should probably explain that the Driftless Region refers to the lack of glacial activity and also country so pretty you don't want to ever drift away.
We really enjoy the driftless region in N.E. Iowa too.

Oh, that sounds cool.

Thanks, though until Dave explained the Driftless Region I did not understand it. Homebrews I know very well, and would love to stop by. :)

Read once that Wisconsin the only place into the world where geologist can study the effect 3 different glacier migrations since all 3 of them had places they stopped somewhere in the state.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driftless_Area

It actually has been in the works for a while, I just slowly let the cat out of the bag in my siggy. I think it was when I took the 19 off that folks actually took notice. :)

I was referring to the duration of your silence. ;D

Oh, by the way, congratulations. Yah, no surprise you've been dropping hints and expressing your dream for quite a while.

Admittedly, silence is a tough thing for me. ;D

And thanks, I was actually enjoying playing the silence game, but just did not have the sticktoitivnous to keep up the charade any longer. ;D

I always thought the Drifters came from the driftless region!! Congrats on your 2015 5.0 Jim, I may have to wait for all these upgrades and get in line for 2017 unless I can I take someone's 2016 slot.

Thanks, Jim. I am pretty sure at some point you will be upgrading anyway, might as well get it over with. :)

First time I was in Wisconsin, I saw a field that had recently been plowed. I told my host that I had never seen dirt so black and rich that it looked like potting soil. He explained that glaciers brought a lot of rich deposits to Wisconsin. I'd love to garden there; lots better than clay!
