Just sharing an up-beat anecdote in light of recent border crossing issue and 'snowbird' discussions ....

Visting yesterday with a good friend (happens to be my former wife) I was again envious of her dual citizenship status. A Canadian by birth in Calgary to Canadian parents, her family (parents plus two siblings) immigrated to the US in the early 1960s when her father took a position with a US bank, they've all lived in Texas as legal residents since then.

In the 1980s, for reasons relating to her profession and convenience, she became a naturalized US citizen. So for many years she's held dual citizenship and passports from both countries.

Now owning a second 'summer' home in Canada, she makes the annual trek to cooler climes towing her small RV, wintering in her Texas home.

During our visit yesterday we again both marveled at how life can be 'funny', and how that can sometimes be particularly fortuitous, as in her case with dual citizenship in these crazy-days of late. We both recognize we're very fortunate in our happy lives.

Wishing everyone here the best in their own life and travels! :)

Life really is what you make of it. Whenever I’m ready to blame something or someone for my inability to achieve a desired goal, I reflect and find that the only thing getting in my way was myself.
Part of what my friend and I marvel about and find 'funny' is how much of our good fortune in life is a result of things we did with no grand planning or expectation of the happy outcomes we now enjoy.

We certainly did a lot of planning and took actions with the hope of good outcomes, usually with success, but still a lot of our good fortunes seems to be the result of 'unintended happy consequences', just the 'lucky' turns of life! We both ascribe that to 'good karma' for lack of a better term / explanation!

I suppose that 'good karma', if you believe in such, is the overall result of what one makes of their life.
