The new 5.0 Escape

I put myself in line to buy one #2, Kim sent me a build sheet with a base price of $27K Canadian. I hope this is correct or close to it.

$27,000 is the price for the current 5.0 ...... I would think that the new one would be more given that there is an extra axle and a larger body. Look at the price difference between the 17B and the 21. The current 5.0 is based on the 17B and the new one on the 21. That being said if it is still $27,000 then you have yourself a real deal!

Do you know who's #1 That's a preliminary build sheet too. Somethings on it that shouldn't be and other things they haven't put on it... like an Oven.

Model name?

Is there any idea what the price will be for the new 5.1?
Or what it will really be called?

"5.0" was an amusing take-off of the "Web 2.0" fad of the time of the introduction of the first fifth-wheel, building the fifth-wheel feature into the name and avoiding the length designation. The problem now is that it does look like a version number, and going to the next major version would make it "6.0" (which wouldn't make sense anymore), while even the next minor version ("5.1") makes the designation confusing (is it a version, and if so, what was the 4.0?)

I think "5.2" would be amusing: 5th wheel, 2 axles

I emailed Escape Trailers and asked the price for the new fifth wheel and the answer was: "The base price for the new Tandem Axle is going to be $28,000."

Maybe the significant words are "...going to be"?

I don't want to double-post and put confusion info out. This is what I posted at FiberglassRV:

When viewing the 21' at the Oregon Gathering, my eyes about popped out when I saw the counter space.

I love my Scamp, but the counter space is only about 4" between the sink and stove. The extra 8" width helped me not feel like was going to whack both elbows walking in the aisleway. And yes, I know the width, etc. comes at a fuel price. So, I'll just drive slower

.

The preliminary, and Tammy DID say it was preliminary, puts the new 5.0 at the same price as the older version. From what I know about the standard stuff in the 21, on the build sheet I saw items that shouldn't be on it, and items that were left off... like an oven.

As far as pricing? Tammy may come back and say OOOPs, or it may be only for the first 10 or only for those delivered before Dec. 31, 2014. I don't have a clue. We know they often discount for winter builds so they can keep a full crew. All I know is I'm a happy gal!

Tell you what, I'll tell y'all when Reace posts the moulds are done. How's that? :D THEN, I'll absolutely know this is happening sooner than later. I just don't want to jinx anything....

Holy smoke, the number of people who have ordered the new 5.0 is fast approaching the number signed up for the 21 footer!

If Escape Industries was south of the border, when I retire I'd like to go to work for them.. at least part-time. They work very, very hard. But, I bet it's a fun place to work when you know you're delivering a product that makes people soooo happy.
