There's a dog in your trailer

I have written poems about my last 2 labs, Pepper and BlackJack, even named an Escape after BlackJack, since I memorialize them, they are still with me in a sense.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I am sorry i turned this happy thread about our animals traveling with us into something has sad has my Ginger's last weeks, months. I will let you know how she is coping as the time passes. Thanks again, your thought really help. Carl

No worries at all, Carl. It is healing to talk about it, and you have a wonderful audience of folks here, who fully understand your situation, to share your grief with.

A dog can be your best friend!
By the reads of this, your dog, Carl, is your best friend. Cherish those last moments you have together. It's probably going to be a Christmas you never will forget. But try to make it one you will remember as a Christmas filled with love and tender care!
Wishing you a Merry Christmas.

Ginger is on the other side of the rainbow, Jan 2007- Jan. 2017. Thanks everyone for your thoughts, it helped.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I know it's hard. 38 years after we lost our shorthair I still think about him and remember the good times
Dave

So sorry Carl.
Hope you will soon will able to think of her at the bridge running in the forest looking for those special sticks.

I am so sorry that Ginger has passed and know that you will hold such fond memories of her.

A friend wrote me this message once which I always reflect upon whenever one of our furry friends crosses that bridge: "The one thing about the human's relative longevity is that we get to see lots of animal friends go through their whole lives before we make the same journey. And we are richer for having them in our lives for a while and in our memories forever."

My thoughts are with you, they are so much a part of our life and it leaves an empty place when they leave us. But when fond memories are recalled they are still with you.

I recently finished reading "A Dog's Purpose". It is a good read for dog lovers. Our dog of 16 years health is failing rapidly. Reading the book brought tears to my eyes several times. The movie version is coming out this month and I will be going to see it.

They are with us such a short time, but I would never be without one.
