Are the standard "tinted windows" different that thermal windows? I assumed that thermal windows means double pane. Does anyone know what is included in the upgrades windows ans extra insulation?

Yes the standard windows are privacy glass the same as in you vehicle,
the "Thermal Window & Extra Insulation Pkg" gives you double pane windows
and an extra layer of insulation which I believe is just in the roof area.

We bought the extra insulation and thermal windows in our 17B. The 3 windows around the rear bed and the door are double pane. The rest are single pane.

I was thinking you would get all windows insulated with the package, including all three front windows. Interesting, thanks for sharing.

The front rock shield window is only available as a non-opening single pane window. Closing the rock shield helps but not quite as effective as double pane. Because the front window does not open, the two front side windows on the 17' are now opening windows for front end ventilation. Given the size of these small opening windows, they are not available in double pane.

On the 19', the only window that is not available in double pane is the front window, on the 5.0...all are available in double pane.

Yes - On the 19, the four side windows open - two in front & two in back.

After we picked up our 17B, we started right off camping with pretty cool nights. The best thing for us about the thermal windows on our 17B is that the big ones around our bed are so much less wet they were when we awakened on cold mornings. And as Reace said, the rock guard on the front window works as insulation - it was usually quite dry in the morning too. The smaller windows were wetter, but being smaller, they gathered less water and wiped off quite easily. Even with temps sometimes into the low 40's, with the thermal windows and the extra insulation in the walls, the furnace had a very easy job of keeping us warm, even with one window and the the top vent slightly open to help ventilation.

On our 17A, the port-side window in the front, which is larger than it would be on a 17B, is also double-pane. It opens, much as those over the dinette do.
