Has anyone swapped out the Dometic thermostat with the Micro Air "Dometic CT Replacement"? Dometic CT Replacement

If you have, is it more accurate, is it easy to install, and does the Bluetooth work well?

One of my complaints about the OEM Dometic thermostat is that it does not seem to be accurate, at least in a 21C where it is on a wall next to the dinette and away from the furnace output and the bed. We just returned from a 6 week trek to AZ and NM and most nights I was up adjusting the thermostat either warmer or colder. Granted the weather being all over the place did not help with consistency, but I really hated having to get out of bed to adjust it all the time. I think using an App on my phone would be a lot less disruptive, assuming others have had a good experience with it.

I replaced the 2 wire Dometic thermostat (I think it had a mercury level switch on a coil spring) with an EasyTouch thermostat 4 years ago in my 21NE. I had to add an additional wire for power. It is really nice having the ability to adjust the thermostat using my phone, but it is finicky because WiFi or Bluetooth needs to be reestablished after it has been shut down. On mine, it doesn't happen automatically. I don't know what other options are available other than the EasyTouch thermostats, but I have wondered. It seemed expensive. I also replaced a Dometic thermostat with an EasyTouch in a friends trailer 5 or 6 years ago, and they really like it.

I don't find any issue with the factory thermostat. It has to do more with location and air circulation than anything. With our wall mounted fan on low and moved to a position to circulate well, I find the temperature throughout the trailer more even.

We are quite used to the Dometic thermostat and find it quite easy to use. Remember, it is a touch screen, not a push button one. :)

I installed the Micro Air thermostat in a 2017 Escape 21. I was not impressed with the mounting method, but installation was easy. I had some early problems that were solved with a couple of firmware updates. The Bluetooth is strong enough to work from anywhere in my campsite, and the WiFi connection works anywhere you have internet. It held temperature better than the Domestic (smaller swing), but read about 3 degrees lower than actual temperature. I did have a problem with short runs on the furnace due to the close location to it. Solved with a bit of gaffer's tape over the bottom vents in the thermostat.
