Hello all, long time lurker and beneficiary of the incredible knowledge lodged in these pages. Long time tent Campers my wife, Serena, and I purchased a Go Little Guy Classic Teardrop trailer 5 years ago. Fantastic little trailer but we longed for something we could stand up in to change. This summer we bought a used Escape 13 in very good condition. So good it still had the original tires LOL!
We took it into Escape to get the propane appliances checked and have them re-seal all the windows, vent etc. We felt like minor celebrities as virtually every one in the factory wanted to check out our little 13. They did a great job for a very reasonable price. In addition they threw in a ton of things for us (new levels, new spare tire cover, upgrade the exterior light to LED and mounted the wireless brake controller to the battery box, new wheel hubs, door gasket).
Modest mods so far: new tires, upgraded all the internal lights and added a small hatch to the rear drivers side. Wrestling with the best path for battery upgrade and solar right now. While I built a Kitchen box for now I'm working on designing a rollout kitchen for the passenger side real hatch (I seriously miss the kitchen in the back hatch of the Tear Drop!).
We've been out over a dozen times since we picked it up at the end of July, mostly 2 or 3 night trips along with the traditional fall 5 day trip from Vancouver to Seattle, Vantage (Frenchman Coulee), Mazamas (Klipchuck) then home.
Looking forward to e-meeting many of you, the 2025 Escape Rally in May and many more trips and many more mods in the future.
Bob, Serena and Rosie the dog.
