Too late to the party!

I don't know what everyone is bitchen about.. I waited seven years for my custom built ETI trailer! Time is discretionary... only YOU can decide what's worth the wait..... MAKE MEMORIES!

I would have to say that it was about 3 and 1/2 years from the time I spotted the first Scamp ad to the time we took delivery of the Escape. Loren

It takes too long

Donna is absolutely right. I takes too long to get an Escape, had to work too many years to reach retirement, took too long to get through college, wasted several years going to school learning stuff I never needed, and on and on and on. However I made a million great memories along the way, made lots of friends, saw a lot of country. And now, I'm making more memories, making new friends and seeing some new country. You can't make more time, live every day as if it were your last, someday you'll be right.

I look at it as "anticipation and planning" are a bigpart of the enjoyment! After we turned in our build sheet to Escape, we started planning our "dream trip" of driving out and picking it up. That planning stage was almost as much fun as the actual trip. Part of life includes waiting - that can be a positive or a negative depending on your outlook. Planning a wedding, waiting for children to be born, waiting for children to mature and move out - you get the picture. Order your Escape and start planning that "next phase" of your life - Enjoy!!!

Well, at least you were smart enough to go straight to the Escape, unlike my unfortunately more "twisted" route through another fiberglass manufacturer. :banghead:

(Donna, please note, I am trying to be good! )

Not really. From the internet, I was getting information as to where the Casita was of better quality than the Scamp. So in February of 2013, we went to the Casita plant in Rice, Texas and after leaving there, we pretty much had our minds made up. In November of 2013 the new tow was ordered, specifically to pull the Casita. Probably about 4 months later I spotted the Escape 19 on line and that was it. In September of 2014, we drove to Chilliwack to see the 19 and to be absolutely sure. We saw the 21 and out came the checkbook. The year flew by and we picked up the new 21 September 10 of this year. At least we finally got it right. Loren

The other thing to think about is the fact that some of the people picking up trailers in 2016, are victims of "two-foot-itis" so probably have trailers they will be selling. And knowing how well Escape owners treat their trailers, buying "used" is pretty close to buying new (sometimes better if you look through some of the posts and see the innovative improvements people have made). If this would be of interest, let it be known and you may be surprised.

Or some of us have skipped right to "four-foot-itis"!

And Jan, like you say, when we get close to being able to actually get a 21, we will be selling a 17 that had spent the vast majority of its life stored indoors, pampered in every way. Whenever we travel people think it is brand new and I'm sure that a lot of other owners pamper their beloved Escapes just as much as we do.

Yikes! Did I start this?LOL! I sincerely hope it won't be YEARS till we can get our TA!

It won't be years for you because you know exactly what you want. All we knew was that we wanted a fiberglass trailer rather than a stick built unit. Loren

tick,tick,tick...
