Under sink storage idea...

Here we installed a sliding basket system under the sink in our 19' Escape for pots, pans and bulky cooking stuff...

Here the basket is in the retracted position. Notice the slide lock on the bottom right to be moved into the locked position while traveling...

Here the basket is extended...

Hi: Donna D... It looks like the same sliding lock we use to hold our flat screen locked to the wall... and yes they're slick!!! I just can't remember where it came from. Alf

That was one of the first things I put in. Much better than digging inside the cupboard. Mine is about half the size though. Always planned to add another, but haven't yet.

Did you pull the center post between doors out?

The sliding lock is an off-the-shelf item from Home Depot. ...and there was no center post in the under sink cabinet in my 19" Escape. The basket and slide system were purchased at "the Container Store." and I went with the biggest basket I could fit in there because it was going to be for large bulky items....and I am happy to report that it doesn't sag at all when fully extended while loaded.

The sliding lock looks like a "surface bolt" - I suggest that anyone looking for one of these use that term.

This is a clever use of a surface bolt: usually the bolt slides into a second part (the "keeper") but in this case it simply blocks the drawer slide when engaged by sliding the bolt to the right. This one is a particularly nice style, but an ordinary barrel bolt would work the same way if there is space for the usually wide base... and maybe stay in position better because a barrel bolt usually has notches to hold the knob of the bolt in the open and closed positions.
